As a concept I’m working through in my artmaking across disciplines, I conceive the Groove at once as a protective and vital force in the Universe and a generative beacon for the Black creative impulse. Accordingly, the event is a multidisciplinary engagement re-imagining Afrofuturism beyond a purely aesthetic position - but rather an ambulatory cosmology ordering our very existence.
