The Cottonwood Cottage has a long history starting out as a chicken coop and hay barn of Stephen Kinsey, one of the earliest settlers of Genoa. Within the past quarter century, the building served as a restaurant and bar; most recently the Tombstone Restaurant, and previous to Tombstone, the Incognito. Today, it is currently being renovated to be a breakfast restaurant and one of the best locatio

ns for small or large private events in the area. Cottonwood Cottage is located 200 yards from the center of town so you and your party can spend time walking through town and visiting the gift and antique stores, the museum or spend time viewing the abundance of wildlife in the area. Your wedding and group can take over the town for a weekend to enjoy all that it offers. The 3,353 square foot cottage sits within a .84 acre parcel with a large backyard grass area and plenty of parking for large groups. Indoors, the property can accommodate 99 guests with tables and chairs and 150 standing while outside, the property can accommodate up to 200 guests. Summer ceremonies take place on our grass area while winter weddings can take place inside the building. Summer garden ceremonies taking place under an arbor with the Sierra Mountains in the background. Winter ceremonies can take place in front of the large rock fireplace in the dining area for warmth with reception to follow. Cottonwood Cottage is a restaurant and bar that also specializes in personalized weddings. Bring your dog to be the ring bearer, dance down the aisle, ride up on a motorcycle or in a carriage with horses, you can do it your way!

Last summer, Candlelight and Roses coordinated a wedding at the historic Town of Genoa Church and the reception at Cottonwood Cottage Genoa After the ceremony, the crowd gathered outside the Genoa Church for a toast and some words from the bride and groom. And then our good friend Sean https://yourbagpiper.com/ surprised all of the guests when he came around the corner with his bagpipes. Sean then led the group down through the Town of Genoa's main street four way stop and down Genoa Lane to Cottonwood Cottage. This is the video of the procession arriving at Cottonwood Cottage. If you have an idea that is outside the box we would love to make it happen. Come see our booth today (January 27, 2019) at the Lockett Shows Grand Bridal Showcase on at Grand Sierra Resort and Casino. It is the 4th season for Cottonwood Cottage and the 20th season for Candlelight and Roses.
