When I arrived in Nashville, the first drink I had was at Douglas Corner Cafe. I had the privilege of having that drink with three up and coming songwriters. Jerry Vandiver, D.Scott Mille and Tony Arata. Tony wrote this song and Garth Brooks made it a hit. I just felt like singing it.

Recorded this here at home a while back. Never thought to put it on line.

I keep saying this to people I know in the industry and they don't pay enough attention. I am nobody in the industry but I have never been wrong about talent. Maybe this confirms it a bit. Artist number 5 is Emma Forgette.

Gospel LK 6:27-38
Jesus said to his disciples:
“To you who hear I say, love your enemies,
do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you,
pray for those who mistreat you.
To the person who strikes you on one cheek,
offer the other one as well,
and from the person who takes your cloak,
do not withhold even your tunic.
Give to everyone who asks of you,
and from the one who takes what is yours do not demand it back.
Do to others as you would have them do to you.
For if you love those who love you,
what credit is that to you?
Even sinners love those who love them.
And if you do good to those who do good to you,
what credit is that to you?
Even sinners do the same.
If you lend money to those from whom you expect repayment,
what credit is that to you?
Even sinners lend to sinners,
and get back the same amount.
But rather, love your enemies and do good to them,
and lend expecting nothing back;
then your reward will be great
and you will be children of the Most High,
for he himself is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked.
Be merciful, just as also your Father is merciful.
“Stop judging and you will not be judged.

Good morning. Just a shout out to all those who came to the Uncle Pepe Dance Party anniversary last evening at Seabreeze. Thank you for attending. We had a blast performing for you and hope you will come to the next show on October 27th. We won't know where it will be held as of yet.

Okay. I feel like I and Maryann have actually become grandparents of a sort. We followed Emma Forgette all over Friday and Saturday. We love this young woman and it's always a pleasure to hear her sing.

We have discovered that we have been having our quarterly Dance Party for 10 years.

To celebrate this we are having a special event at Seabreeze Rec Ctr on 7-28-24.
This is a free show for all with a Villages ID or Guest Pass.
This will be a ticketed event.

You can also get tickets at doo-wop on the porch which is on Saturday mornings around the corner from Sonny’s BBQ at 9am.

We will be having great entertainment featuring:

Doors open at 4:30 and BYOB and a snack

Gospel Mk 10:1-12
Jesus came into the district of Judea and across the Jordan.
Again crowds gathered around him and, as was his custom,
he again taught them.
The Pharisees approached him and asked,
"Is it lawful for a husband to divorce his wife?"
They were testing him.
He said to them in reply, "What did Moses command you?"
They replied,
"Moses permitted a husband to write a bill of divorce
and dismiss her."
But Jesus told them,
"Because of the hardness of your hearts
he wrote you this commandment.
But from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female.
For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother
and be joined to his wife,
and the two shall become one flesh.
So they are no longer two but one flesh.
Therefore what God has joined together,
no human being must separate."
In the house the disciples again questioned Jesus about this.
He said to them,
"Whoever divorces his wife and marries another
commits adultery against her;
and if she divorces her husband and marries another,
she commits adultery."

Gal 5:16-25

Brothers and sisters, live by the Spirit
and you will certainly not gratify the desire of the flesh.
For the flesh has desires against the Spirit,
and the Spirit against the flesh;
these are opposed to each other,
so that you may not do what you want.
But if you are guided by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
Now the works of the flesh are obvious:
immorality, impurity, lust, idolatry,
sorcery, hatreds, rivalry, jealousy,
outbursts of fury, acts of selfishness,
dissensions, factions, occasions of envy,
drinking bouts, or**es, and the like.
I warn you, as I warned you before,
that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
In contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, generosity,
faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.
Against such there is no law.
Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified their flesh
with its passions and desires.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also follow the Spirit.
