My opinion on Faux Flowers; here's another round of fightin' words

I don't like them. Yes, they have come a long way, and they look so real blah, blah, blah. I can tell. As a florist, I can tell the difference.

When did they get so popular? They aren't cheaper, only difference is you'll have them forever. But wait you can keep your real ones forever too, preservation is a thing.

I do all real everything, I don't even do dyed Flowers. If it doesn't come in that particular color I find something else that does. It's my style (this also goes back to designer's choice). I do my thing you stress less because I know how to get the desired look.

Designers Choice is the best options, read why ⬇️

The sky is the limit! When there are no boundaries on varieties, doors open!

Growers are constantly coming out with colors, and more options are available then EVER before.

This lets the creativity fly. You might just end up getting the newest variety. Plus, when drama and abundance are combined magic happens and dreams come true.

So let your florist select the perfect combo for your wedding day, and it you need help 😉 shoot me an inquiry on the website.

Don't make this mistake when reaching out to wedding florists!

Requesting out of season varieties. Peonies, Sweet Pea and Dahlias all have limited seasons and they are all very beautiful of course.

This drives up the cost and if you are wanting a particular style/vibe outside of their season we can always discuss alternatives.

I will never promise any variety that is out of season because of the odds of getting it are slim.

Hey, Y'all . . .

Bit if a PSA. For pretty much the entirety of my business' existence I have gotten the comment/question "Oh you only use wildflowers?! That's so cool."

This assumption is wrong. It's also something I never imagined I would have to explain.

Wildflower Florist was born out of where I grew up. It carried over from my floral design class.

Today, it helps move me along, sometimes. Wildflowers grow where they want, and they thrive at it. This is why I keep trying. To grow when it seems impossible, to grow when environment isn't ideal, to reach my goals even when nothing is going right, to keep trying even though I'm tired.

I use lots of flower varieties, that's what I love. From the biggest sunflowers to the smallest waxflower, I'm not putting myself in a box. My last two weddings were in opposite ends of the spectrum, from full flowers to lots of greenery. I loved both and want to create more.

In the coming weeks, I'm making a change to move forward. A change that will allow me to focus more on the life I want to live and the goals I have for myself and my future.

Hope this gives some clarification and clears up any confusion about what I create.

Alright, y'all! Wedding Expo Inspo

When I decide to show in this particular wedding expo again, I wanted to design something that you haven't seen me do.

The point . . .to show you, the client, what I am looking to create, what my business creates. This will give you an idea if I'm the florist you want to work with. If my vibe is on the same wavelength as yours

Pastels were in my radar, I was really looking forward to spring, but I also adore blue. I'm always trying to find new ways and new flowers that are naturally blue. (Side note: any flower dyed is a no-no for me. It's messy)

I also love greenery. So, doing some research I found this beautiful delicate nest with minimal florals and I was in love.

I can't wait to see everyone in a couple of weekends at the Albany Capital Center. (I'm also doing a raffle, so stop by to get the details).

Hey, Everyone!!! I'm talking about greenery today!

This is my favorite thing to do. I love to create weddings that have an abundance of greenery. The different textures and mixing the colors create a vibe that I love. Plus table garland were something I did that made me feel like I meant to be a Wedding Floral Designer.

A popular myth is that greenery is cheaper than going with flowers. Yes, there are some affordable greens out there, but they are not going to give you the look that you want.

I like to use Italian Ruscus for it length and deep green, either Silver Dollar or Baby Blue Eucalyptus (sometimes I go crazy and use both 😜) for that dusty silver look and occasionally Leather Leaf for adding fullness. I am also constantly doing research to find new and different greens. Sometimes, I get bored using the same combination.

Leave a 🌿 in the comments if you're doing full greenery for your wedding!

What's my design style?

That's the biggest question, right?

I find my exact "style" a bit unique. It's not quite rustic, not quite garden, and not quite classic. I fall somewhere in the middle.
I enjoy using the classics, like roses and carnation, and complementing them with cosmos, peonies, stock, etc. I'm always looking for the next interesting flower and the most unique colors.

I love:
Ceremony pieces, large and small
Unexpected Color Palettes, my absolute fav
Full Bridal Bouquets
Interesting Design Pieces (your venue has an interesting focal point that you would love to decorated with flowers)

🪻Flower Field meets Rose Garden🌹
We're Unique, but Sophisticated

⚘️Let's talk about your ceremony⚘️

My obsession at the moment is really gorgeous, ceremony backdrop. Your ceremony starts off all of the wedding day vibes for you and your guests.

Whether it be a Moon Gate, Chuppah, or Grounded Floral Nest, I'm talking about statement making, something that you're gonna look back on and go Damn! That was so awesome, I'm so glad we did that!

❤️Grounded Floral Nests are in. This is usually created by grouping several compotes together. Bonus, they can be moved to the reception. 😉

❤️Aisle Flowers, something I'm seeing everywhere, is where it looks like the flowers are "growing" out of the grass (chef's kiss)

❤️Arch/Arbor/Chuppahs are traditional but easily elevated with the level of abundance, if that's full blooms or mass greenery (personal fav.)

Your ceremony sets the mood/vibe/tone for the entire evening! Save this for later, or send it to a friend!

Looking forward to creating elegance for 2024 brides!
