7th Annual Walk/Run the Pete Mellinger Alamo River Trail
Date: Saturday, October 19, 2024
Time: 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM
Location: Skate Park (4th & Pine Ave, Holtville, CA)

In Honor of Holtville High School Yellow Ribbon Club, the first 50 registered participants will receive a yellow T-Shirt (while supplies last). The Yellow Ribbon Su***de Prevention Program was founded in 1994 by the parents and friends of Mike Emme, a teen who took his life when he didn't know where to go to ask for help. Michael’s mother passed out 500 Yellow Ribbon cards at his memorial service that read “please don’t do this, please talk to someone", with a phone number to call. The Yellow Ribbon Club became a part of Holtville High School in 2001, by Katie and Margaret Strahm. The Yellow Ribbon Club currently has anywhere from 20-60 active students. Today, the program's message is: "It’s ok to ask for Help." For help, call or text 988.
