Wedding floral design isn’t about creating pretty things, it’s a labor of love. Most see beautiful flowers, candlelight, and fun installations; but most could never imagine what it takes to create a moment that truly brings families together.

Being familiar with seasonality of product, monitoring weather for outdoor events, troubleshooting problem’s and the ex*****on of vision in a timely manner are only some of the many things we juggle with to create the dream.

I can even say that some can’t see the value in flowers because of their short life span and expense. But beauty never lasts forever, in fact, most things don’t.

What we do is so valuable, beautiful and important. We tell stories with flowers. We create moments that are captured on film to share for the lifetime you spend together. We transform spaces, changing simple rooms into everything you imagined for your happily ever after.

I LOVE love! I chose this life so that I can share in magical moments, and give deserving couples the dream. It’s not about creating pretty things, it’s about the blood, sweat and tears that the clients will never see to create a moment that will last forever. I take that responsibility seriously.

I am grateful for all the couples that have trusted me over the last 8 years. Thank you for giving me purpose, showing me grace, allowing me to display my gift, and seeing value in all that I do.

I truly believe that every gift is from God. The Bible says that we all have different talents and God-given gifts, but they are all important and can be used for God’s kingdom.

I pray everyday that I not only bring joy to beautiful couples stepping into a new chapter of their lives together, I pray that I please God in everything that I do moving forward.

God graced me with many gifts, but education and horticulture have been my pride and joy for the last 9 years!

I’m so grateful for all the brides who trusted me with their big day! Thank you for allowing me to tell your love story through floral expression.

The Halim Time & Glass Museum is home to a private collection of historic mechanical timepieces and clocks with 100 satined glass windows.

“The Tiffany Gallery displays treasures of L.C. Tiffany. Tiffany made advances in stained glass, pottery and other media.”

“On exhibit are paintings in oils, pastels and watercolors that showcase his early life and travels. Later works include housewares and decorative arts, mosaics and windows.”

Our bride was inspired by the vibrant colors of the glass and art within this magical space.

Because of her creativity and ingenuity, we sourced floral that had neutral tones with deep rich complements.

She loved small textures foliages and designs that were natural, flowy and loose with a modern flare.

Large open garden roses and peonies were a must. The wine colored ranunculus, blue tweedia , cappuccino rose, and quicksand roses gave the arrangements a punch of color. The spirea was light and airy accent that brought the look together!

“Secret Garden in the City” inspired by beautiful Tiffany Glass! What more could a girl ask for?

Whimsical, romantic, timeless, elegant! We love bringing garden vibes to the city!

In order to achieve phenomenal garden aesthetics brides should incorporate unconventional details, bold color choices, and non-traditional elements.

During the design process consider the following:
1. Create unforgettable moments with focal structures and backdrops.
2. Line your aisle with floral and greenery instead of candles.
3. Invest in bold open blooms and curiosities.
4. Incorporate floral and greenery that emphasizes the beauty of nature.
5. Draw inspiration from enchanting elements influenced by art and flora.

Why did you pursue floral design?

I attended an agricultural high school. My freshman year, I met the most amazing human being. She told me that I should pursue the horticulture club because I had an interest in all things botanical. That suggestion changed my life forever.

I fell in love with Horticulture, Floral Design was my all time favorite topic. I saw how passionate it made me and the joy it brought others to receive what I made.

I furthered my education in Horticulture and received a Bachelor’s in Science.

When I returned home, I became a Wedding and Event Florist at an amazing company in Lincoln Park. There my skills truly blossomed. As time went on I wanted to create the life of my own. A life filled with passion, love and all things flowers.

I left that company to become an educator at the same high school I graduated from. For 8 years, I taught my students about the science behind plant growth but also the beauty of flowers. At the same time I created my business and it was the greatest decision I ever made. I was elated to make a difference, create a life, and stay connected to an angel.

I left education to pursue design full time. I vowed to my teacher and my former students that I would spread my wings and fly. With one life to live and big dreams on the horizon, I’m excited about this new venture.

So, to answer the question, I pursued floral design because it’s my destiny and my calling. I’ll spend a lifetime telling stories through floral expression. I wouldn’t have it any other way!

It’s time to create your personal love stories without a plethora floral Pinterest posts. Pinterest is an amazing tool to be inspired, but I’d prefer to see your dress, get to know how you and your fiancé met, understand your style, talk about your interest and watch your dreams unfold.

Pins reflect someone else’s love, style, vision and budget. The design process can truly assist you in creating an experience for you and your guests.

Dynamic floral and decor with a story can truly bring people together in a moment that is magical. Come to your meetings with an open mind, willing to collaborate in one of the most enjoyable parts of wedding planning. Instead of duplicating pins, become the next pin! 😉

FLORIST TIP: Repurposing ceremony decor isn’t the way to be budget friendly on your big day, you’re still investing in the labor that has to be present to transition one moment to the next.

Difficulty of the transition can also be costly depending on how far ceremony decor has to go, potential refreshes, and how many people have to be present to make transitions happen quickly.

Typically we, as your florist have an hour to make things happen, sometimes that can be cut short if you’re potentially running behind schedule.

Repurposing can sometimes be impossible with the timing or location of the reception.

Sometimes it may be in the couples best interest to invest in floral that can be set in the reception space while ceremony is taking place. Your florist and planner should weigh out the best options for your big day that will be conducive to the budget and not compromise your vision. Repurposing floral honestly gives you more time with your investment. Ceremonies typically last 30 minutes.
