Solo agradecer!

Finalmente tuve que cerrar mis dos grupos de WhatsApp. Guardaré sus voces, sus mensajes, sus chistes, ideas, cada una de las cosas que vivimos en nuestras clases, en lo más profundo del 🩷
De eso se trata enseñar!
Se trata no solo de enseñar un idioma, sino de pasar por las vidas de nuestros alumnos, ayudarlos en su crecimiento profesional. Se trata de dejar huellas, de que nuestros estudiantes puedan brillar, confiar en ellos, entiendendo que solo se trata de intentarlo, de animarse a cometer errores, ya que con práctica y esfuerzo, lograrán todo lo que se propongan!

Today, we had the honor of concluding this wonderful program, English Without Borders. According to statistics, this cohort has been highly successful in terms of professional development, the number of students who successfully passed their exams, and other key aspects.

One of the activities involved leaving a message of appreciation for a colleague, and I was fortunate to receive three of these messages, which my colleagues allowed me to share.

To wrap up, we were informed of the Remote Teacher and the group that achieved the highest score compared to their previous exam. Fortunately, one of my groups earned this recognition! Some of my students who were at a B1+ level managed to reach B2, B2+, and even C1 in just five months—an outstanding achievement on their part.

With this, we officially mark the end of Cohort 5 of English Without Borders. I am proud of my students, my colleagues, the team, and myself!

It has been a pleasure to guide my dear students from B1 and B1+ level during this process. They've acquired the necessary skills and confidence, to continue learning in a meaningful way. They got excellent scores on their exams as well

I am so proud of their achievements!!

Papá contrata a Guy Williams en Marina del Rey - Los Angeles para actuar en el Circo Satrany.
Estuvo unos días en la quinta, donde había 3 caballos, una yegua de salto, una petiza y este padrillo, Lotus.

Hermoso caballo, hermosa foto y recuerdo.

A tan solo unos días de terminar el año, les comparto un resumen de lo que fueron nuestros eventos de cierre de este año.

Estamos muy felices de haber compartido otro año con alumnos, familias, speakers, teachers, docentes y seguidores.

Desde el 2013 guiamos a docentes de todo el mundo, que nos consultan por materiales y sugerencias. En 2018 comenzamos a organizar eventos de capacitación profesional y tuvimos el honor de que hayan sido declarados de interés cultural en 2018, 2019 y 2021 por Cultura de la Municipalidad de Mar del Plata.

Finalmente queremos agradecerles su apoyo constante ya que sin ustedes Sharing Materials no sería lo que es hoy.

Todo comenzó en Julio con un llamado de Bety, nuestra Vice y Pat, nuestra dire, desde Londres, invitándome a tomar una suplencia hasta Diciembre.

Hoy luego de 6 meses, estoy muy feliz de haber formado parte del staff de este hermoso colegio "Del Solar School", todo fue positivo, me siento parte de esta familia aún habiendo terminado mi suplencia. Cada uno de mis compañeros: profes, paralelas, maestros, preceptores, dires, coordinadoras, buffet, porteras, recepción, etc, siempre trabajando en equipo con las familias por y para nuestros chicos.

Fue muy enriquecedor haber compartido con mis peques este último semestre del año. Hemos vivido momentos de mucha alegría en clase, preparando nuestro Show, en la Open class y en cada actividad realizada.

Guardaré por siempre, en lo más profundo de mi corazón: sus caritas, sus abrazos al llegar, sus dibujitos (que han sido muchos), sus anécdotas, sus voces y sus imitaciones de mi saludo "Hello everybody" al entrar.
♥️🥰

El 2024 terminó con una cena, un emotivo discurso, muchos abrazos, muestras de cariño, felicitaciones y con un 10 en mi calificación final, yeahhhhh!!!

International intelligibility is overtaking the native-speaker accent as the most relevant pronunciation goal for learners of English today. In this talk, drawn from material in the Oxford University Press position paper on teaching English pronunciation of the same name (Walker, Low & Setter, 2021), I will consider the spread of English as a global language, explain why it is not a necessity to have a native-like accent to teach and assess English pronunciation effectively, and consider why non-native speakers can, in fact, serve as better teachers and role models for learners. This does not, however, preclude the teaching and learning of native-like accents if that is the desired goal of learners. I will also address the teacher-training needs for effective pronunciation teaching and learning.

Probably best known as co-editor of the Cambridge English Pronouncing Dictionary (CUP 2011), she is also the author of the public-facing Your Voice Speaks Volumes: It’s not what you say but how you say it (OUP 2019), co-author of Hong Kong English (EUP 2010), and co-editor of The Cambridge Handbook of Phonetics (CUP 2022), among others. Her research publications are mainly in speech prosody, investigating pronunciation and phonology in Global Englishes and in children with speech and language differences. Jane is a National Teaching Fellow of UK Advance HE and an advocate of working with students as partners and public engagement with research.
