Do you want to hear a wedding story?
Do you want to learn a thing or two about weddings, for your own one or for your sister, brother or friend?
It was 30 minutes before the scheduled ceremony time and the suppliers were all on their feet doing their tasks, briefing the entourage of their roles, photo and video roaming around to capture moments, the band playing the tunes…
The groom was inside the chapel, happily approaching and welcoming their guests…
Bride was on stand by in her wedding car, and the photo-video team were taking the opportunity to take more photos and videos of her…
Ten minutes into the scheduled ceremony time, everyone was all set, the entourage were all lined-up, suppliers on their posts, the priest at the altar, waiting for cues…
But the bride’s parents haven’t arrived yet.
They left the preps hotel with enough time allowance but they haven’t arrived at the chapel on time…
We found out that they got lost and they’ve been circling around an area.
Fifteen minutes past the scheduled ceremony time and the bride’s parents were still on the road.
30 minutes…
We were summoned by the priest to the altar and told us that should the parents not make it in the next 30 minutes, even without them, we shall proceed with the ceremony.
An hour past the scheduled ceremony, the bride’s parents arrived, walked their daughter along the aisle and soon after, everyone was cheering as the groom was kissing the bride at the altar.
We were all witnesses to the beauty of faithfulness and patience.
All the while, the bride was just in her bridal car, quiet and radiantly beautiful. She sure knows that we were past the timeline, but she kept calm.
What can we learn from this story?
Was the brides’ parents getting lost under anyone’s control? Did anyone from the suppliers, the entourage, the bride and the groom wanted it to happen? No.
While it was in reality nerve-wracking, everyone remained calm and composed.
No one from the family or from the suppliers approached the bride to bombard her with negative thoughts, thus saving her from the stressful situation.
Did we need to tell the bride and the groom about the priest’s decision? No. Not before the ceremony. Not before the problem is not yet resolved. Because it will cause them to panic and be stressed. We had to filter the information and just preserve happy vibes! 🩷
