Happy Friday, Friends! I’m truly so excited for today.
Ryan and I are FINALLY going to see the new Deadpool movie (my humor to a T, btw) and then today is my daddy’s birthday which we are going to officially celebrate tomorrow evening at the lake with a Dairy Queen ice cream cake.
I also kept both my kiddos home with me today which they both slept until 9am 🤯 and now we are about to go eat lunch. It’s a good day.
P.S. I took this champagne home and tried it and I was not a fan. 🤣 My go-to champagne is Martini & Rossi and it’s definitely better than the one in the picture, at least in my opinion. 🥂

Today is shaping up to be a busy, busy Friday here at KGW! I’m working on behind-the-scenes planning details, charting out timelines, and crafting design boards with my trusty blue-violet computer glasses on – a sure sign that serious work is underway! 💻👩🏼💻
Later this afternoon, I’ll be off to my parents’ lake house with my kiddos which is actually one of my favorite places to tackle work. As a night owl, I get a lot of work done once my kiddos hit their pillows and there is just something about my parents’ lake house where I love staying up late and checking off my to-do list. 🌅
I’ll also be putting some finishing touches on some exciting projects that KGW will unveil in the next few weeks. 🎉
Balancing family time with my creative endeavors is truly rewarding, and I can’t wait to see these projects come to life.

I cannot emphasize enough the importance of living in every single moment on your wedding day. Take a cue from Emily, who truly exemplified how to be in the moment in every detail - from cherished moments with her best girls, to a heartfelt first look with her groom, and even the cutting of the wedding cake.
Instead of rushing through a checklist of timeline to-do’s, take the time to truly experience each special moment. While I recommend at least 8 hours of photography coverage, extending it to 9 or 10 hours can provide invaluable opportunities. With extended coverage, you allow yourself more than just a fleeting 15-minute window for a meaningful first look with a parent and provide time for opportunities like viewing your reception space before guests arrive.
Remember, on your wedding day, immerse yourself fully in each moment and conversation. The day passes by WAY too fast and you don’t realize just how quickly it does until it’s over. 🤍

An important aspect of planning that I emphasize with each couple during the planning process is that when your family and guests enter your ceremony or reception space it should feel authentic to you as a couple. I believe a wedding should truly represent you as the bride and groom and that is why I believe it’s crucial for your wedding design to reflect your personalities.
For instance, Kristin and Spencer are two people that are upbeat and their happiness is truly contagious. They are easy going and wanted to make sure that everyone felt welcome at their wedding. With their stunning color palette of pinks and oranges, you couldn’t resist but to smile when you walked into their ceremony and reception. Plus, we added small details that made a big impact, which we all know, that one small act of kindness can make a big impact. And for me, that is the best reflection of Kriston and Spencer.
