USA Bracketing is a new way some clubs will registering tournaments on instead of trackwrestling.

If you have ANY questions or are looking for info about this season, tomorrow is the night!!!

We will go through EVERYTHING!!! We are going to get a pre-season weigh in. We will pass out shoes for anybody who needs a pair. We will go over practice and tournament schedules and anything else you can imagine. Kids and Parents please come up, we can't wait to get the season going!!!!

TONIGHT be there at new time 6:30. Meet at the flag pole, wear KM shirt if you have one. Flag raising and announcements will start at 6:50. Thank you so much. You should be able to get in free of charge (like last year if your kid wears his wrestling shirt, but I don't know that for sure eek, sorry). Can't wait to see all the kiddos come to represent WELLSVILLE KID MATTERS WRESTLING CLUB!!!

Hello Everyone!! Season is coming up quick and we are excited.

First, We will be doing the Flag raising at the HS football game September 20th. Wear your favorite Kid Matters shirt and be there by 6:45 for line up.

Second, our fundraiser this year is just going to be a 50/50 Raffle that will be set up with a few members throughout the day at Chili-Jacks bar during Wellsville Days. If the kids want to come grab some tickets and walk around to sell them that would be great also.

Third, we are ALWAYS looking for more coaches. If you are interested please message us on here or contact Chris or Kasey to get you the info to get signed up. We appreciate all the help we can get. Ladies that goes for you also, whether it be to work the table at practice, help with shirts, help with tournament sign ups, or even coach.

Cant wait to see what the new season brings.

****END OF SEASON BANQUET****

We will be having our end of the season wrestling banquet on Wednesday, March 20th. We will be having it in the High School commons area and will get started at 6:00 pm. EVERY kid, parent, sibling and/or fan is welcome to join us so we can celebrate these amazing kids we had this year!!!

A "taco/nacho" bar will be provided by the club. We ask that if you plan on attending to help us out by bringing the extras. We will be making a sheet so everyone can see what will be brought. The big ones are drinks, desserts, cups, ice, etc.....

Please come join us for a fun evening!! We will eat and get a quick rundown of the season and what all we will have going on until the start of next season. Hope to see as many of you as possible!!!

****2024 USAWKS State Tournament****

This tournament will bring out the highest of highs and some of the biggest heart breaks you will ever see. We got to experience both sides this year. While not every kid might have finished the exact way they were hoping for, I've never been on a ride quite like this season!! Our record year began the night of sign ups and just never stopped. I can't say thank you enough to all of these kids for trusting us to get them to this tournament and I hope they all know how freaking proud I am of each and every single one of them!!!

Addy Gardner: 0-2 Addy got a tough break in her district bracket and never once complained about it. Put her head down and won every match she could. It looked like we came up just short of getting here, but karma stepped in and got her through. She keeps getting this experience and it's gonna pay off these next two years!!

Morgan Mietchen: 0-2 Morgan got to experience her first state tournament and she handled it extremely well!!! She wrestled two very tough matches and it's not going to take much for her to start winning these matches. Morgan is going to be a big piece of our girls team next year!!

Tommy Shuey: 1-2 Tommy also got her first State Tournament experience and she also went and won her first match at State!! Tommy is going to wrestle in her correct weight class next year and she's about to turn it on!!

Owen Blanchard: 0-2 Owen might not currently reside in the Wellsville area code, but his roots are as deep as anybody in this town and he's been the absolute best to coach this year!! He's learning technique more and more and it's about to be a different level when it all comes together for him!!

Tatum Gardner: 0-2 Tatum came along a little later in the season than most kiddos (she's always in the middle of some sport). Not only was she just getting started she's in an age group where as a 7th grader she competes against some freshman in HS!! She also BEAT one in districts. Can't wait until she gets her experience and unleashes it against her same grade kids!!

Kash Stevenson: 0-2 Kash got to experience his first State Tournament and that alone was special for him!!! Wrestling hasn't been the easiest sport for Kash, but this kid just keeps grinding and getting better and it's showing. He is starting to peak at exactly the right time!!!

Jordyn Edmiston: 0-2 This was Jordyn's 2nd State Tournament!! We're still working for her first win up here, but after the year Jordyn had last year she was a completely different wrestler this year and it showed!! The next step is going to be even better than watching her improve this year and I can't wait for it!!

**Now we get to some of those high and lows. In wrestling there is a term called "the blood round" its the point in the tournament where you win this match your a state placer, if you loose this match you go home with nothing.....it's the most stressful and nervous situation you can be in as a competitor/spectator.

Scarlett Saylors: 1-2 This was Scarletts first year ever wrestling!! For her to make this tournament is crazy. For her to win a match at the tournament is amazing. For her to be 1 win away from being a State Placer in her first ever year is incredible!!! Down late, she went for one last move and truly gave everything she had into trying to make it happen. I'd never ask for anything more!! My last talk with her she was telling me she can't wait to try it again next year, me too kiddo, me too!!!!

Brinlee Hartman: 2-2 B just finished up her 2nd year of ever wrestling and can already call herself a 2x State Qualifier!! She made sure that her best wrestling would be at the end of the year and it def was. Right in the middle of a stacked bracket with High School girls all over the place we were right there just competing with them all. They only place the top 6, but to say you're one of the best 8 girls in the state is amazing!! Whatever the future holds for you B always know that our doors never close for you.....

Jake Doles: 2-2 Jake comes into every season with as high of expectations as possible. He wants to be the best every single day and works his tail off to get there!! Going into the week we knew how tough the bracket was and Jake was extremely close in both of the matches he lost this weekend just coming up a little short of where he wanted too. His finish this weekend changed absolutely nothing about who he is and how I feel about it!!! Your story is far from over, in fact, we just finished chapter one!!! This thing is just getting started - 2x STATE CHAMP!!!
