Way back in 1976 I did my first disco for the class Christmas party ! This lead on to birthday parties and a regular slot at our youth club. By the time i was 15 i was DJ’ing at student nights in the clubs and on occasion when the regular late night DJ was ill or on holiday the slot was mine. During the 80s i worked the club circuit around Eastbourne and Brighton with the odd few up and down the country.
In 1989 i turned Professional and went full time as a Mobile and Club DJ. I have covered Weddings ,Birthdays, Corporate functions, Masonic and Rotary functions, to be honest i dont think there is anything with maybe a couple of exceptions that i have not covered in my career. This was to be my life for the next 23 years week in and week out dj’ing at functions in hotels, bars and in clubs up to 4 nights a week.
In 2012 i decided to for want of a better term to retire and hang up my headphones after what i can only describe as an awesome 23 years. So where have i been since then ? well i will tell you, i have been working in another industry i am pasionate about The Electronic Cigarette industry, need i say more as a former smoker.
Since 2012 i have been keeping my hand in by presenting regular shows on a couple of internet radio stations playing disco , 80’s jazz funk and soul etc. So anyway to bring this snapshot of my life up to date; I covered a few gigs for my brother when he was on holiday back in early 2017 and now i have the bug once again to get out and gig just a little. I have teamed up with my brother and brought a new set up (rig) and the rest is history, many of my old customers have found me again and the bookings are coming in at a fast and furious rate; its just a shame i have a limited amount of dates i can work.
I will see you at a gig soon no doubt.
