Couples have been getting married at St Wilfrid Harrogate since it was consecrated in 1914. As Harrogate’s largest and only Grade I listed church, St Wilfrid’s has always been a special place to say your vows. If you are lucky enough to have a connection to the parish then you too can have your ceremony in the stunning church.

Hold Your Wedding Reception in the Church from 2019

For the first time in St Wilfrid’s history, the team at St Wilfrid’s are now taking bookings for wedding receptions for up to 260 people in the church. Even if you have been married elsewhere, you can hire this unique space for your special celebration. The church and hall are fully licensed and you can choose the caterers and bar providers of your choice for your wedding reception.

Wedding Receptions in the Parish Hall

For smaller receptions, you can hire the Parish Hall at St Wilfrid’s, which is a unique vintage venue with a stunning “lamella” roof and original wood panelling. The Parish Hall is perfect for receptions for up to 120 people, and the hire includes access to the outdoor space, the kitchens and tables and chairs.

Convenient Location in Central Harrogate

Harrogate is a traditional Victorian spa town, and St Wilfrid’s is ideally located near to the Cairn, the Swan, the George and the Majestic hotels. All are walking distance from the church. There is free private parking at the church and plenty of free on-street parking at the weekend nearby. The famous Valley Gardens and Betty’s Tea Rooms are also a pleasant walk away.

St Wilfrid Harrogate is a spectacularly beautiful church in central Harrogate. The church holds daily services and is primarily a place of worship – exclusive use hire for wedding receptions is only available on a Friday or Saturday evening, so you can be sure that your wedding won’t be “just another event” in a venue calendar.
