With Miami Art Week over, I'm ready to spend a relaxing evening at listening to my favorite voice of all time: Ella Fitzgerald! Join me in the Monterrey Bar by 6pm tonight for a brief history of Ella's life and how 2 of my favorite albums fit into her legacy. Join us Friday, November 8th from 7-9PM at Sweat for an in-store show with Marty & The Magic Bag to celebrate the release of their new album “LOVELUTION”! “Marty and the Magic Bag” is a musical project by local singer/songwriter Brian Jacobson, inspired by his childhood imaginary friend, Marty, an alien from Jupiter. The self-titled 2014 album tells the story of Marty’s promise to take Brian’s brother to Jupiter, a dream rekindled by Brian’s children. A decade later, Brian’s new album, LOVEOLUTION, releasing on November 8, 2024, features renowned musicians and imagines a world where love and unity triumph.

Spinning the best and worst of Indie Rock, R&B, Pop, Hip-Hop, B***y, Freestyle and Electro, DJ Hottpants does it all while dancing about in short shorts and legwarmers. DJ Hottpants is a resident DJ at Double Stubble and Friday Happy Hours at Gramps. You can also catch him spinning at various art openings, private parties and special events across the country.
