Peru, we head to you in June for a wedding in Sacred Valley! This is a peek into our design process. Native plants, traditional Peruvian weaving, ancient ruins, and, of course, the couple: all inspiration for this upcoming celebration!

We’re hoping and planning to share more like this in the future— giving couples and vendors alike a little behind the scenes of how we see design. Let us know below if this is something you want to see more of 🏹🕵️

We’ve been called many things over here at Wildly—

wedding planner (duh), confidant, best friend, designer, creative director, emotional support animal 🐶🫂, hair-fixer, dream team, furniture mover, production manager, boob-taper, stylist, cheerleader, family wrangler… and many more, we can’t remember at this point 🤗

At the end of the day we are all of these things and believe it’s an absolute honor to step into these little communities of couples, families and loved ones to create events that are meaningful and immersive out in nature. 💕

We will never try to convince a couple to have an extravagant backdrop if they don’t really want one! It’s all about values. Some couples see the natural beauty of a place as the only thing they need. Some want to go all out and create an installation that showcases as a work of art. Some want something right in between. We love working anywhere on that spectrum and creatively ensuring the couple is framed in a way that highlights them and their ceremony.

S+D utilized both the natural backdrop of Joshua Tree National Park and a tender floral installation that they could snuggle into. We love how they had a combination of moments framed by boulders, Joshua Trees and flowers 🌸 🫶🏼

A favorite groom portrait to this day. The couple and their guests stayed at a dude ranch in the Rockies and each day the horses galloped to and from their stables at a specific time. This time happened to coincide with portraits 😍🐎🏔️

A table for 4 in our favorite desert! We established a unique color palette for this design and we couldn’t be happier with the result— pastels inspired by music festivals (the couple frequents festivals all over the country with a special love for EDM) paired with terra cotta and sand tones to ground the design in the location. 💫

Instead of a gone-cold buffet dinner of flavorless chicken, a custom menu of Korean BBQ grilled and plated in front of you. Instead of a standard white dinner plate, investing in a terra cotta dinnerware set that you’ll use in your home after the elopement. Instead of being consumed by talking to hundreds of guests whom you haven’t spoken to in years, just your two favorite people join you and you soak in time with your lover and besties.

We love planning these ALL IN elopements. The ones where you treat yourselves to quality experiences that you’ll remember forever.

These are the things Sarah and David did, that were completely unique to them. We’re not saying these things can’t be achieved at a bigger wedding, but sometimes the nuances of personalities, community, finances, location, and more make eloping the perfect fit.

Big love to this couple and our desert team for making this day so freakin fun 🫶

Some people don’t want to “inconvenience” their guests by asking them to join them for a weekend in their favorite Colorado town, tucked up at a low 9,318 ft in elevation. Some people aren’t Devon and Bear. Some people aren’t us.

What we all knew is that it wouldn’t be an inconvenience, it would be an honor. Silverton steals your heart as soon as you arrive. And this couple keeps it forever. They know how to have a good time and make everyone feel at ease. How incredible to be welcomed into their warmth and hilarity. We certainly felt it and walk away from this weekend as friends.

Viewfinder seating chart, a surprise n**e first look, typewriter haikus, passed porrons, a plethora of rugs, clay face shot glasses, limbo, a burning fireplace, and wigs galore— we can’t wait to share more from this day in the Rockies.

A 21-person wedding set in the Uinta Mountains—yes, please. This is our jam, our passion. These intimate weddings that mean the 🌎

Caitlin and Chase chose their immediate family for a 3-day experience in the mountains. Enjoying the cabin the groom’s dad built 30 years prior. Walking the land he played as a kid. It wasn’t built to be a venue, but in partnership with the couple we crafted spaces that felt better than what most venues can offer— something highly personal and filled with memories.

We liked calling this a “European Picnic in the Mountains” because C&C just recently moved back from the Netherlands and with them came details that had a certain European charm. Take their attire, made in Paris. Or the tiny plates, the texture of Lisbon. Or the menu, overflowing with Mediterranean-inspired courses.

There are so many more details to share of how we embedded C&C’s stories into their day, but for now— we are so incredibly grateful to this couple, their family and this team for making it unforgettable. All of you friends now 💕

R+J wanted to celebrate their marriage by focusing on the places where their love grew. From moments abroad to the community in which they call home, they celebrated the people and places who helped make and shape their story. 🤍
What an absolute honor and dream to celebrate these two.

Tessa and Daniel’s story was marked by places in Chicago. It’s where they met, romance blossomed and legally wed. While their loved ones already knew so many details of their story, they wanted to memorialize and honor their story with an installation. The front panel displayed a map of special locations in Chicago with highlighted story notes beneath. The back panel held black and white photos of the couple throughout their lives. As you read their story on the front panel you could see their faces and watch them grow as their story progressed.
Helping Tessa and Daniel share their story in this tangible way was such an honor. Helping couples share who they are and authentically celebrating them is what we love about this work. 🤍

We’re back! And we’re kicking it off with some snaps from our time in the Yukon with Amber & Ty!

It was a wild ride. We were hit with some major last minute curveballs, but we did what we do best— pivot, problem solve and make the absolute best of it!

It was a dream of a wedding under the midnight sun and we’re so grateful for these two, their families and our incredible fri-endors who made it all feel like plan B was plan A all along!

⁠After reflecting as a team and preparing for 2022, we're excited to share that we will be taking six months away from Instagram!⁠

We love this community. Yet, it’s complicated, right?⁠
⁠
As much as we’d love to say we’re unaffected, we find ourselves distracted and often discouraged in this space, especially during the pandemic.⁠ There is a constant push to do MORE, to share MORE, to be on allllll theee timeee. ⁠
⁠
We want to focus on our craft with 100% attention. We want to be present in our work, in the marketing strategies that ACTUALLY work (we did the math and found that 99% of our couples find us through word of mouth, Google Search (yay SEO!) and Pinterest), in the relationships with our loved ones and in our growth as humans.⁠
⁠
We want to be rooted in reality - in the realness of the here and now.⁠
⁠
So, in the coming year instead of spending time scrolling and posting, we will be focusing on: ⁠
🕊️The wonderful partnerships we have with our couples. We are leaning into our vision of helping couples find freedom and joy during their engagement and strengthening their relationship while planning their celebration.⁠
🌀Creating an education course all about crafting wedding design with story and heart - for planners & designers (eek so excited to finally hint at this)!!!!⁠
💌Building more REAL and raw relationships with the humans in our industry (get on our newsletter list to connect in IRL - we're thinking Zoom happy hours, in-person coffee dates & maybe even some snail mail).⁠

The most memorable wedding days we’ve (and we’re guessing you, as well) experienced are the ones in which the couple built their wedding day based on what was important to them. ⁠⠀

As planners and designers, our role involves getting to those important things - the couple's values. ⁠⠀
⁠⠀
So, how do we help couples identify their values? We do this a few ways, but conversation and connection being our top resources. We discover more about their values and story through listening, worksheets we specifically crafted for identifying values, and our experiences with them (we love coffee and dinner dates). ⁠⠀
⁠⠀
These values serve as our north star, the standard through which every decision, every detail, every moment is held. ⁠⠀

The Wildly Collective Emergency Kit has been on a journey. Nay, many journeys over the years.⁠

We provided personal care baskets to our couples when we first started out and then moved to a fully-loaded rolling (makeup) suitcase. Now we fill a large backpack with what we may need to serve our clients and vendor team on a wedding or elopement day. ⁠
⁠
What’s interesting is that we have truly used most items in our emergency kit. Things we hoped we’d never ever need to use. We have. ⁠

Let's talk about experiential design. Maybe it's a term you've heard in other industries, but our guess is you've probably not heard it in the wedding industry. We're changing that.😉⁠
⁠
As experiential designers, our focus is not just on creating a beautifully designed day, but ensuring that each design choice is made with intention - connecting to who the client is; ‘the conscious events that make up’ the client’s life and story. Our goal is to craft designs that resonate and feel like a piece of the client.⁠
⁠
From the smallest of details to the most obvious, our aim is to ensure the client feels acknowledged and understood in each and every design choice. ⁠
⁠
So what will happen when we shift into this mindset when designing a wedding, elopement or event?⁠
⁠
THIS IS WHAT WILL BE SEEN: ⁠
-More time spent getting to know the couple⁠
-Planners and designers asking better questions⁠
-A sense of partnership and vulnerability between the designer and the couple⁠
-A shared end goal of ensuring the couple feels deeply represented in their event rather than just hoping to get pretty photos⁠
-Guests leaving an event saying “we know the couple even better now!” ⁠
-Emotion from the couple expressing gratitude for being understood ⁠
-"Heart-swelling” in the couple, couple’s guests, the designer and all event vendors during and after the event because they feel such strong connection to everything incorporated into the event⁠

Using your favorite elements transport your guests to a space that is meaningful to you. The design, the space, the colors, the scents, the sounds, the volume, the time of day, and your words let them in to something spectacular and unforgettable. ⁠⠀

For this event we took everything touched by sand - the sea and the desert - and weaved them together to expose our hearts. Both the dry desert and the misty sea are places where we've been transformed. Where we've grown. Where we stepped into new understandings of who we are. By integrating them thoughtfully into the design, guests now understand us better. Bringing us all closer together and leaving sand between our toes. ⁠⠀
