Writing about Lucio Battisti means writing about the light, “la luce” in Italian. Retrospectively, his entire art can be seen as a trajectory towards enlightenment, from our planet to the sun. The music by Lucio Battisti is nothing but an ascension movement from the particular to the universal, from love songs to the idea of love, from the things that populate our world, to the ideas we use to describe it. From the mid-60s, when he began to write beautiful melodies, up till the end of the 90s when he was considered a hermit, Lucio Battisti managed to transform his emotions into a unique vision, becoming the greatest Italian musician ever lived.
Lucio Battisti became the music for the memories we created in our lives. Every single Italian has a story involving a song of this singer!

This fourth issue comes after a very long and cold winter, with a very strict lockdown in Europe. But fret not, the very talented writers of MOSTO have put together plenty of great articles to help you fight these winter blues.
In January, we met the people at the Gravner Estate - a name that does not need any introduction. We then moved to Cilento, meeting Vigneti Tardis, a rock and roll duo making wine in the Campania region.
Restaurateur and sommelier Patrick Campbell writes about French bubbles and Champagne growers. Frankie Barile tells us the story of wine as a fe**sh, from Marx to contemporary thinkers.
From California, our man Bram Johnson introduces the wines from La Clarine Farm, just outside Sacramento. Axel Polimanti, our man in Asia, recalls his adventure in Myanmar, where Lord Kyawswa lives - apparently the protector of local drunkards.
We then flew to Genoa and meet Ginuenses, a young local gin maker producing excellent products. Writer and sommelier Anna Lounguine explores the Rules of Gender in the hospitality business, on how it is to be a woman against the horrible “Bro Culture”. Sport, music and subcultures journalist Sir Ottons plays the role of Hunter S. Thompson, with his gonzo piece on Football and Booze in Italy and the UK. Wine journalist and communication specialist Jacopo Cossater introduces us to the Repubblica Popolare Marciano Nord, a new (but very ancient) reality in the Italian wine world.
