James is has been working hard on his senior year at Valor Preparatory Academy. After graduation he plans to pursue a business degree.

James likes getting a few moments to sit at the picnic tables in the courtyard and enjoy nature in between classes. It's a small break that makes a difference.

He's really excited for his class trip to New York and Boston. James is close with his classmates and has learned the value of the relationships you form.

Blake Gonzales is a senior at Eagle Christian Academy and plans to pursue a career in law enforcement or entrepreneurship. He was highlighted as a Wacoan Star Student in this month's magazine.

Blake has loved being a part of various sports at ECA, including football, basketball and now wrestling. He's also been in jujitsu at his dad's dojo since he was five-year-old and is now a purple belt. Sports aren't his only hobby, though. Blake also enjoys playing guitar, especially in the music room and balcony at school. To round out his active lifestyle, Blake is an active member of his youth group at Concord Baptist Church.

His words of advice for Freshmen are to 1) pursue a relationship with God, 2) don't get distracted by social media, 3) focus on studies and 4) do as many things as possible. Blake points out that high school is actually a short amount of time and a great opportunity to invest in opportunities that develop character - like sports have for him.

The Koch family were coming in to Waco from Michigan and New Jersey for the holidays and wanted to get family photos while they were together.

We got the typical group posed shot, but we also got a chance to break everyone up into family units, guys and girls, siblings, etc. I love seeing the family dynamics play out during a session. The Koch family is no exception. The kiddos are so loved and definitely loved being with the whole family.

It's always fascinating to see what people do for a living. Katherine Turner-Pearson was so much fun to talk to. She's a Registered Professional Archaeologist and owner of Central Texas Archaeological Resources. How cool is that?!

She's had an interesting career path that includes communications and politics, too. As we got to talking, we also discovered some unknown connections from years ago (gotta love the small-town feel of Waco) in addition to our Women of Waco ties.

Katherine needed some new headshots so I brought a portable set-up to her office. One thing I'm seeing a lot of is the request for white backdrops. This lets the person shine, but it also adds a ton of flexibility for marketing purposes since the background can easily be removed and exchanged.

Brenna was one of Wacoan's Star Students highlighted in this month's magazine. She's valedictorian at Robinson High School and is excited to graduate in May and pursue a degree in Speech Language Pathology.

She had some wonderful studying tips that goes beyond taking notes and making notecards. Brenna goes the extra step to make practice quizzes and records herself speaking in Spanish so she can check the pronunciation while memorizing it.

When she's not studying, Brenna is busy in theater and band. She plays the trombone and is a drum major. And last fall she was in The Price.

On top of it all, she's one of the kindest people you could hope to meet and has a wonderfully balanced perspective on life.

Way to go on all your hard work, Brenna! Congrats on your upcoming graduation!

Officially done with sessions for the year!

What an incredible year it's been. I had more business and senior clients than previous years, several of which were repeat clients. I've gotten to work with two amazing local magazines, got to train at Texas School of Photography again, and even got to keynote at a Women of Waco meeting.

It was also quite a busy year with 167 sessions between my clients, Wacoan shoots and Stroll magazine covers.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this all come together. Thank you to my incredible clients who opened up in front of the camera. And thanks to my sweet family who encourage me along the way.

I've loved being a part of your lives, even if just for a moment. It's beautiful to see how special everyone is individually and together.

Chuck and Christy have been married for 32 years and are a wonderful example of marriage! They have so many stories and experiences together. You couldn't find a more hospitable and kind couple. They are gracious and welcoming to everyone!

Binh An and Chas have been married for almost five years! Hard to believe it's been that long since we celebrated their wedding! Life has taken them across the country where Binh An is working on a PhD and Chas works in cyber security. They still visit Texas and we love it when they do!

I've known the Howard family for several years and love seeing how their lives shift and grow. This is one of the most considerate families you could ever hope to meet. Their smiles aren't forced, they're infectious!

It's Tracey and Geoff's wedding day!

They are probably the calmest bride and groom you could hope to meet. Tracey loves to relax with books and Disney puzzles. Geoff is a renaissance man who loves games and unusual opportunities like jousting.

Marcala looked stunning in everything we put her in, but my jaw probably dropped with how well she pulled off this golden dress.

It was so nice to be a part of the Hill family's photography journey. They hadn't gotten family photos in eight years.

During the planning meeting we looked at what they had before and figured out the best ways to update the images. The frames were custom made by Chris and we took note that most were horizontal images. These are the small little details that can make a difference during a session. We shot for the Hill's needs so they didn't have images that were the wrong size or format for how they wanted to display the portraits.

This sweet family had goofy moments, laughs and lots of puppy snuggles. Every family has their own personality, and I'm honored to watch who they are individually and as a unit.

Dogs are part of the family! Love that the Pirtle family included their sweet pup in these adorable Christmas photos. She sat pretty and got extra snuggles as a reward.

You may have seen Eleanor with Stroll Villages at Twin Rivers or Jeff at the The Texas Collection. This is where you can find them when they're ready to unwind with family.
