⁣⁣Neighborhood reunions was created in 2018 by two friends, Donald Storrs and William Champion, who shared the pleasure of growing up and attending McFarland Junior High and Mackenzie High Schools together in Detroit, Michigan.
⁣⁣
After graduating high school, Donald and William made a pact to meet and have breakfast or lunch once a month.
⁣⁣
As time went by, they decided to invite other friends with whom they shared not only schools, but rivalries in sports and neighborhood quarter parties.
⁣⁣
From that invitation, Neighborhood reunions grew to over one hundred plus, meeting at various venues each month.
⁣⁣
With the success of the gatherings, they decided to have T-Shirts made with 'Neighborhood' printed on the front and the addresses of their old neighborhoods or the names of their previous schools printed on the back.
⁣⁣
In 2019, COVID brought everything to a halt; the gatherings were placed on hold, which is why the upcoming reunion on Saturday, June 11, 2022, from 11 AM to 8 PM on the Sherrill Elementary School playground will be so special. We hope you can join us!@

We brought the New Year in with a bang in our screenwriting workshop on January 5th. Gerald Haynes, Independent Filmmaker, and USC School of Cinematic Arts Alumni mentored new screenwriter and filmmaker, Jocyelyn Baines—they brainstormed together and created an exciting new script for their Short Film titled CHANCE.

Bring the tools you need to write a script: Laptops, Tablets, Note Pads, Pens, Paper, etc.

Be prepared to create a story idea and outline for the first draft of a five to six-page script with a logline and elevator pitch for a Five-Minute Film. You can work with a writing partner, on a team, or alone.

Please note: This will be the last workshop we host for screenwriters this year. We will begin our workshop for playwrights in March to prepare for our 2019 Summer Season, featuring our One-Act Play and Short Film Festival in the Park.
