WE ASKED 12 INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS:
HOW DO YOU EXPRESS THAT „FLAGS ARE FICTION“ WITHIN YOUR WORK?!

Another year is coming to an end: so harsh, so close, so cold, with a quiet reminder in the back of our minds: Stay Soft, Stay Active.

The media writes, and we feel the weight of “polycrisis” as the word of these times. At the same time, real community gives us a sense of closeness — spaces for exchange, both artistic and political.

We are raising funds for the humanitarian project (International Disaster Response), in solidarity with people in need in P4L35T1N3. CADUS provides critical aid on the ground in G4Z4 and relies on financial support and visibility.

Together with the team from , , , , and amazing artists, we’ve created a new solidarity shirt. All proceeds will go directly to Cadus.org to support their vital humanitarian work.

we are more than thankful that Deniz ( ), our co-founder had the opportunity to work with the wonderful team of DOMiD (Dokumentationszentrum und Museum über die Migration in Deutschland) to co-curate an participative exhibition — Opening this Weekend:

Together with around 40 participants, the team of DOMiD Labs, Sandra V***a, Azziza Amanda & Carmen Steins & the scenography team with Thomas & we open a space for exchange of perspectives and realities from the Migrationsgesellschaft Deutschland, it’s DOMiDLabs 4. Join us if you like :)

Stolz, Freude, Nostalgie, aber auch Trauer, Melancholie und Wut: Mal sind es Objekte, mal Situationen, mal Geschichten, die unvermittelt intensive Gefühle – positive wie negative – auslösen können.

Ausgehend von der Sammlung des DOMiD und mit Blick auf dessen in Köln-Kalk entstehendes Migrationsmuseum arbeiteten im vierten DOMiDLab Menschen der Stadtgesellschaft, das Szenografie-Team , Deniz Weber als Ko-Kurator sowie das DOMiD-Projektteam zu den Fragen:

Wie können in einer Ausstellung Objekte und Geschichten sensibel ausgestellt werden, die starke Gefühle – positive sowie negative – auslösen? Wie kann ein Museum gestaltet sein, das Gefühle auffängt, auf diese reagiert und ihnen Raum gibt?

Das Ergebnis der gemeinsamen, partizipativen Arbeit ist Handle with Care – Eine Ausstellung über Erzählungen, Gefühle und Perspektiven aus der Migrationsgesellschaft. Die Ausstellung widmet sich unterschiedlichen Migrationsgeschichten und damit verbundenen Gefühlen. Dabei bietet „Handle with Care“ Platz für eigene Emotionen und lädt dazu ein, eigene Perspektiven zu teilen und auf das Gezeigte zu reagieren. Zu sehen ist die Ausstellung ab dem 12.10.2024 in den Projekträumen GOLD+BETON und Geimende Köln.

“I’d love to do something, but I don’t know how.” – Do you know this thought? Of course, we do too – that’s why, together with the humanitarian organisation Mission Lifeline, we’ve found a first answer over the past few months on how you can easily support.

1. SKETCH&RESCUE*:
Grab a pen and send us a sketch of how you would visualize „solidarity.“ Upload it, and you’re done. *We can use your sketch to create new solidarity products and campaigns – proceeds go directly to humanitarian projects. Once your illustration appears on a product, you will of course receive one. Your name will naturally be credited as part of the design.

2. COLLECTIVE COLLECTION:
Support by purchasing a solidarity product. Background: To test the collective design process, we conducted a co-creative workshop with Mission Lifeline in the NoPlace project (Cologne). Sketches from this workshop are now available on solidarity shirts, screen prints, and caps. All proceeds are donated to MissionLifeline. Designed in Cologne, Printed in Berlin.
