The beauty of Indian classical music is in experiencing it in close proximity. βBaithakβ roughly translates to βsitting roomβ or βmeetingβ. These chamber concerts, typically hosted in peopleβs homes, have been the traditional way in which this music has been shared and cultivated across generations. The synergy that forms between the artists and the audience in a baithak is truly something else β¨ Weβre excited to be presenting one this Saturday with veteran vocalist Ramesh Jule along with local artists Mohan Bhide (harmonium) and Hriday Buddhdev (tabla)
Hereβs a clip of Ramesh Jule singing the evergreen ghazal βMohabbat Karne Waleβ, originally sung by Mehdi Hassan, at an informal gathering πΆ
