Portland / Oregon ist ein heißes Pflaster, ein sozialer Brennpunkt mit allgegenwärtiger Drogenproblematik und düsteren Aussichten. Kein Wunder, daß sich das auch in der Musiklandschaft der Region widerspiegelt, Neben einer umtriebigen Extrem-Metal-Community gibt es auch eine sehr agile und progressive Post-Punk-Szene. Einen Namen haben sich da Soft Kill gemacht, aber länger am Ball und fest im Underground verwurzelt sind Shadowhouse. Das Quartett um den Gitarristen Shane McCauley agiert unter dem Motto "Play loud, Dance slow". Sie fühlen sich in der Arbeiterklasse verwurzelt. Fasziniert von gefallenen Helden und persönlichen Abgründen schaffen sie einen nostalgischen Sound, aus dem in der Ferne Joy Division oder auch Interpol erahnbar sind. Seit 2013 ist die Band aktiv, tourte bereits rund um den Globus und brachte Ende 2021 ihr zweites Album "Forsaken Forgotten" heraus, welches nun auf ihrer anstehenden Europatour auch live präsentiert werden soll.

Terminal A (Industrial/Synthpunk, US)

Das Synth-/Post-Punk-Duo Terminal A aus der Gegend von San Pedro in Los Angeles begibt sich erstmals auf Tour außerhalb Nordamerikas. Sänger Colin Peterson und Gitarrist Lee Busch verbinden in ihrem Sound Einflüsse von Punk und Deathrock bis hin zu Industrial und früher elektronischer Avantgarde Musik. Ihre hochenergetischen Performances bedienen sich an Elementen der Wiener Aktionisten sowie Brechts und Artauds Theater der Grausamkeit. Seit ihrer Gründung im Jahr 2012 haben Terminal A drei EPs, eine Handvoll Singles Singles und mehrere Musikvideos veröffentlicht. Sie tourten durch die Vereinigten Staaten, Kanada und Mexiko und waren bereits zweimal als offizielle Showcase-Künstler beim SXSW-Festival zu erleben.
