Our Story
JAIRUS LANCE
Jairus Lance began his electronic journey back in 2001 at a local music store. Compact disks where the way to get music to our homes back then. Stacks and stack of CD binders organized from A to Z in genre. One of those adventures into Best Buy Jairus found the Classic trance tune named " Sandstorm" by Darude. From the first moment of the track playing till the end, Jairus began to find a calling to this mysterious energy that flowed through him. Curious to find more, Jairus began to look into more of this so called, Electronic Dance Music, but back then we called it Energy Trance. Finding a friend and co-worker at the time that also was a part of this world he so desperately started to look for Jairus finally attended his first rave up in Seattle. DJ Micro, DJ Irene, DJ Spider, DJ 7UP, DJ Mars where just a few of the highlighted artists on the lineup for this night. Being a fan of DJ Micro, Jairus got to see for the first time what this amazing journey was like. " I have been listening to DJ Micro's CD's for like 3 weeks straight and knowing that he was going to be at this rave, brought a huge excitement to see him perform live. I was right up front jumping, dancing, and just letting the world go. After his set I was honored to meet him, get an autograph of my ticket, and snap a picture. I ventured out of my love for Trance and started to explore House music. Richard "Humpty" Vission, Bad Boy Bill, DJ Dan, Donald Glaude, and Hatiras was just the beginning for me. Still buzzing the excitement from the night before in Seattle, I attended a House party here in Portland OR with headliner Richard "Humpty" Vission on his album tour, Dam That DJ Made My Day. A dark, cold, and mysterious four room warehouse with the main no bigger than a 3 car garage. The walls where sweating from the amount of heat, the speakers where thumping from the bass, and Richard was building a drop. At this moment in his set I looked over in the crowd and it was like slow motion, everyone was on beat to his track, one fluid motion. I felt this energy I have never felt before, I was speechless. I knew right then and there what I need to do in my life. I create the energy, its released by you, my fans" - Jairus Lance. From that moment to this moment right now Jairus has never forgotten that feeling. That connection with the crowd. Creating uplifting moments, euphoric atmospheres, mind blowing drops, and memories that will never be forgotten. He doesn't just play music, he creates stories that will guide you down an elemental path. Jairus continues to always seek out the best of himself in his mixing. From bedroom jam sessions, to live performances he brings everything to the tables. Jairus has not only grown as a musical artist, he has built a strong following of fans with the creation of 8 Bit Sessions.
