We just want to give a big shout out to Gamedeals Video Games for the awesome deal they gave us on the latest addition to our gaming console fleet! A new (to us) WiiU, which will go perfectly with the killer games we've been adding to our library this year.

Don't worry Microsoft and Sony, we still love you! But right now we're a little busy with Mario Kart 8 DLC, Smash Bros WiiU, and Mario Party 10! (and Hyrule Warriors too).

If you're looking for us, we're currently in negotiation with several different events and societies in Vancouver, and we'll be excited to let you know as soon as we have more to share on when and where we'll be running games rooms, parties, dances, and other fun types of shin digs.

On this Remembrance Day, we would like to share with you a story that one of our team witnessed:

As you know, IRL Events throws regular events at the Legion Hall on commercial drive. That hall is there to support our veterans, and many people meet there regularly. On one day, while a street festival was taking place along commercial drive, a person decided to start writing slurs against the veterans in chalk, right in front of the hall, beside a table the Legion Hall was running for the event.

A well meaning person walked by and was appalled at what was going on. He tried to splash water and erase the chalk writing, even while the slurs were still being written. A member of the legion hall saw this about to take place and quickly asked him to stop, and then explained that he had fought for this person's freedom to express himself. That legion hall member then stood guard and let the writing be completed. This event took place in 2013.

So on this day, as we remember the sacrifices our troops have made, and the terrible price of war, please consider stopping by your local legion hall and making a donation, or even just saying thank you. Trust us, it will be well appreciated.
