Back in April the incredible Fred Macgregor (https://www.fredmacgregor.com) joined us for the set up of a Spring wedding. He captured the ‘behind the scenes’ of a wedding day and I love how he’s managed to capture the serene amongst the chaos that always appears on a wedding day.

#flowerfarmerama challenge: Top tips for looking after our flowers….
Our flowers will have been picked and conditioned for at least 12hrs before we send them out so that they are at their absolute best when you receive them.
For gift bouquets, to keep them looking their best, cut at a sharp angle at least 1cm off the bottom of the stems. Make sure the vase you use is super clean and do not put in direct sunlight or next to a radiator.
For Floral Arrangement Buckets, make sure you have somewhere cool and dark to store the buckets until you are ready to get creative.

Every year my Dad says, without fail, this is going to be the best year yet! I love this sentiment; starting again in the new year full of hope for the year to come. So in true tradition I have many New Year resolutions and one is to be more active on social media. To keep me on track, I'm joining in with the @buisnessofflowers #flowerfarmerama social media challenge for the next month. The first step is to say hello and introduce myself.
I'm Sarah from Wild Bee Flower Farm. I'm a city girl who loves to do both the growing of flowers and the floral designs.
I have lived in Newcastle, London and Cornwall, finally settling in York with my husband 7 years ago.
Before becoming a grower and florist I spent 12 years working as a music therapist with children and adolescents who had experienced trauma. When I discovered growing flowers, I honestly think it became my own therapy. I hope to use my therapeutic roots within my floral work in the future, but for now this business is blue sky for me.
I'm at my happiest either picking flowers in the last light or hitting the dance floor.
I'm a firm believer that life starts at 40. Since we were mid global pandemic when I turned 40, I have adjusted this to 41 and I am incredibly excited about 2022.
Disclaimer: this photo was taken pre global pandemic and pre baby; there are definitely a few more grey hairs and wrinkles!

The first flowers of the season....Spring has finally sprung in Yorkshire.
A simple home arrangement anyone can do with one of our seasonal buckets. I had half an hour where my toddler was in bed, my husband had made me a gin and I had flowers. Flowers (and gin) really do lift the spirit!
