Jeremiah 29:11

For as long as I can remember, I have loved to plan parties, but never considered it to be a career path. When I got accepted into The University of Alabama in 2016, I enrolled as a Public Relations major specializing in non-profit management with a minor in Communication Studies. Two weeks in, I dropped the minor and became a double major in PR and Hospitality Management specializing in event planning.
Summer 2017 - I was selected to be a student event planner for Alabama Gymnastics’ 30th Anniversary Alumni Celebration weekend. Along with two of my classmates, Cierra Barrios and Kate Bloomquist, we worked alongside the operations team to execute what was referred to as “the best one yet” per those who attended. From planning menus and goody bags to designing floor plans and cakes, we did it all. It was the most stressful, yet fulfilling experience I have ever been a part of.
Fall 2017 - I booked my first event. A beautiful Mardi Gras ball held in Louisville, Kentucky. Oh yeah, this event was the weekend before Bama Gymnastics. Talk about busy. Two major events. One week a part. During mid-terms. It was beautiful, tiring, thrilling, overwhelming... you name it, I felt it. Really though, I am so proud with how it all turned out.
