Big shoutout to everyone that took that trip to St.Kitts with me and my family as we continued our now annual tribute to our parents lost at sea 29 years ago. What a weekend!! From the sail up on Friday morning, to lunch in Nevis on Saturday, the run on Sunday and trip back on Monday. Each day was like a Poker Run for us. Too much fun!!
Special thanks to Jach, Jachim, Kai and the rum dawgs for kicking in to work mode and reinforcing my engine bracket that got loose on the trip up, right there at the dock while waiting to be cleared by customs and immigration.
Special thanks to Eva from Team Refuse to Lose for all the help with the whole customs and immigration process and communicating what needed to be done with everyone.
Loved the way team AXA stuck together and had each other's backs.
Shoutout to Reggie Francis and Team at St Kitts Marine Works for the speedy check-in and clearance process.
Shoutout to our SKN boat life family that were there to assist with anything we needed.

DR WILLIAM V HERBERT SKN POKER RUN SAFETY RULES!!!

The first Dr William V Herbert SKN Poker Run is fast approaching and we want everyone to have fun, but to be safe while doing so.

- Remeber it is not a Race. Captains should stay at a pace comfortable for them and their vessel.

-Please take your time during the run.

-Keep a safe distance from other boats while under way.

-No jumping from moving boats.

-Boats should not be overcrowded. Captains should be able to see at all times.

-There should be no sudden change of direction or cutting off of any boats.

-Wave your hands in the air to signal to other boats that you are slowing down.

-No hard banking "harbour style" at Stops.

-The speed limit in each of the harbours is 5 knots.

-All foreign boats are required to check in with local Customs and Immigration.

-Everyone coming in from overseas must fill out the online entry kna travel forms and have their approvals.

-Local captains should look out for the foreign captains and advise them of any reefs or any other underwater dangers.

-No dumping of trash overboard.

-Everyone on board should be encouraged to look out for other boats and swimmers when pulling up to stops.

-Boats are required to have enough life vest for each passenger on board.

-Boats are required to have fire extinguishers on board.

-Boats are required to have a VHF or cell phone on board to contact other boats.

-There should be no speeding at Stops. Except for the Stops selected for this.

-Spectator boats should keep clear of the area being used for the Powerboat exhibitions.

-All poker run participants must wear their identification wristbands.

-Captains should remain sober and follow the rules and laws set by the SKN Maritime Administration.

-All captains are required to attend the mandatory safety briefing before the start of the run.
