The easiest ways to communicate that your celebration is adults only:

+ Envelope addressing-- writing "The Lachney Family" is a visual cue that everyone in the household is invited. Include names of invited parties ONLY (IE Ashley + Garrett Lachney)
+ RSVPing online? Most sites let you set a max party size per invited guest (IE if Ashley and Garrett are invited, set their max party size to two and they'll not be permitted to add additional seats.)
+ RSVPing via mailed back card? Have your stationer insert a line that says "We have reserved __ seats in your honor." OR (my favorite) include a line at the base of the card that states, "love to all, but adults only please."

What do your favorite vendors do to become your faves? I'll go first!

+ Hair and makeup teams that are consistently on time and a steady, calming presence morning-of
+ Florists who bring a gentle energy with them.
+ DJs with crisp + clean set ups (and no ego-- yes I said it!)
+ Catering teams with efficient processes, strong leaders, and attention to detail
+ Venues with managers that work for their clients and alongside their vendor teams

Lauren + Matt's beautiful black tie wedding at was a sweet late-season affair.

They made the choice to have their entire celebration within the 2nd floor event spaces of the hotel, meaning guests arrived in one area for the entire evening and moved between rooms when it was time.

Why do set ups like this make my heart sing? It means my team and event staff can close and open doors to spaces exactly when we want and need to, and results in a simply MAGNIFICENT photo gallery for you that is stuffed with great detail photos.

As much as we love your guests, the stray clutches on place settings and coats on the backs of chairs really harshes the vibe of a clean and pristine set up.

Friendly reminder that if you're tying the knot in OR or WA state, you can obtain your marriage license from ANY COUNTY in that state (it does NOT have to be the county your ceremony takes place in!)

Here's what I tell all my couples:
+ find the county most convenient for you, and start on their website
+ find out the process for the county you've chosen (IE is it in person, online, a hybrid of both, or all by mail?)
+ if you're a destination couple, be sure to build in an afternoon to visit the courthouse/county-building (if needed) before you head to your final destination
+ AND always double check what documents are needed (if any) to show if you DO need to go for an in-person portion.

here’s the skinny...

I believe that weddings should be stress free. I believe that timelines are golden. I believe that those choosing to unite in marriage should work with their Wedding Planner in a safe, fun, collaborative environment. Lastly, I believe that the best compliment a couple can receive is that their wedding was so "them."

I started assisting on events in a corporate role beginning in 2012. From there, I moved to an internship assisting on ten weddings in one Summer and planning my own wedding. I left my corporate role then and worked two solid years planning everything from meetings to weddings to charity galas and even assisting on a couple county fairs! I’m now planning weddings and events full time with Alston Mayger Events, and I’m so.damn.proud to have the opportunity to work with you.
