Many contra weekends that have taken place recently have reported either low attendance (25% or more below previous years) or high levels of breakthrough Covid infection, or both. Given this pattern, we have reluctantly decided not to hold FootFall this year.

Jamie and Betsy Platt will hold their International Dance over Labor Day weekend at Camp Louise, and we hope you will consider joining them.

We have reluctantly decided that the health risks have made it necessary to cancel this year's FootFall Dance Weekend. If you have already registered, you will receive a full refund.

The website registration is working, and there's a tentative schedule.

We are checking with the bands we had originally scheduled for Labor Day 2020. More soon. It will be vaccinated dancers only, and we will need a copy of your Vaccination Record Card. We will keep the copies for three weeks after the event is over, and then delete the copies.

Our dear Webmaster, Mike Loiodice, passed away a few months ago. Please be patient while we struggle up the learning curve. It may take a while to get the website working, and we may have to revert to paper registration initially. It's WordPress based, and (pretending to be The Little Engine) I think I can learn how to do this.

The contra will be in this open air hall (with, of course, nifty lighting). Great smooth floor.

FootFall 2020 has been canceled due to concerns about COVID-19. The beautiful camps (Louise and Airy) will not open this summer at all.

We hope you will mark your calendars for Labor Day Weekend 2021.

We remain optimistic about FootFall 2020, scheduled for Labor Day weekend — early September.

We have three fine bands lined up: Daybreak Trio (Owen Morrison, Naomi Morse and Anna Patton); Hot Coffee Breakdown (Tom Cunningham, Luis De León, and Kate Sanders) and Are We There Yet (Charlie Pilzer, Susan Brandt, Tom Wright, and Tina Chancey). Luke Donforth will be calling contra and Gaye Fifer will be calling English Country Dance.

We hope to open registration by mid-June, a month from now, but much depends on health advisories and updates. Much as all of us want to dance face to face and smile to smile and hand to hand, the advice and recommendations of appropriate authorities will be a significant factor in decision-making.

We expect to share Camp Louise with World Village Music and Dance Camp, as we did last year. All attendees at either event may attend any workshop. FootFall will showcase contra, ECD and more; World Village will feature Eastern and Northern European dance and song.

Revised schedule just about ready. Camp Louise has found us a lifeguard, so we are able to include an hour of pool time on Sunday afternoon. Trying to schedule a second hour somewhere -- either Sat or Mon am.
ECD will be in Barnett, which I believe has AC. Working on the menu, and will post that ASAP.
Looking for a good spot for the post-dance snack!! If you'd like to contribute something, bring it along -- we'll be able to store it in the "Cookery."

Had a helpful meeting yesterday with World Music organizers. We hope to get our schedule posted soon.
