Our Story

En PAY IT NO MIND la orientación sexual y el género musical son irrelevantes. Será un hervidero de disco, house, techno, outsider pop y glamour sin ostentación ni pretensiones. En PINM nos hemos inspirado en los actos de Marsha P. Johnson. Johnson que fue una drag queen afroamericana y activista del movimiento de liberación LGBTQ+. Marsha destacó por ser una importante activista por los derechos LGBTQ+ y por ser una de las primeras en responder a los enfrentamientos de Stonewall de 1969. ‘Marsha se elevó por encima de ser un hombre o una mujer, se elevó por encima de ser negro o blanco, se elevó por encima de ser hetero u homosexual.’ La ‘’P’’ en Marsha P. Johnson significa ‘’Pay It No Mind’’, la frase favorita de Johnson. Buscamos crear una espacio seguro, en el que la gente pueda ser tal y como es, sin juzgar a nadie y siempre con buena música.

At PAY IT NO MIND sexual orientation and music genres are irrelevant. We are a buzz of disco, house, techno, outsider pop and glamour without any ostentations or pretensions. At PINM we have been inspired by the acts of Marsha P. Johnson. Johnson was an African American drag queen and activist for the LGBTQ+ liberation movement. Marsha was noted for being a leading LGBTQ+ rights activist and for being one of the first to respond to the Stonewall clashes of 1969. ‘Marsha rose above being a man or a woman, rose above being black or white, rose above being straight or gay.’ The ’P’ in Marsha P. Johnson stands for ‘’Pay It No Mind’’, Johnson's favorite phrase. We seek to create a safe space, in which people can be as they are, without any judgements and always with great music.
