Le Grand Pique-Nique 2024 was a smashing success! We estimate we had over 650 parents, students, volunteers and sponsors from 13 immersion schools represented from across the state including Shreveport!

We are gearing up for THIS SATURDAY! If you didn't hear, this is going to be the biggest French immersion event in Louisiana. We are expecting over 500 people from 13 different schools from all over the state! We have a Grammy Award-winning artist, Louis Michot, from Lost Bayou Ramblers performing. We are also super proud to say that all the heavy hitters from the immersion world are coming: the French consulate, LA Louisiana Department of Education representatives, Alliance Française of New Orleans, and 5 universities all at the West Baton Rouge Museum

Le Grand Pique-Nique is fast approaching! Notice of contestant entries are due by Sunday February 25th! Committee is asking for a simple message with list of students' poster, comic strip, and/or talent entries. (A quick picture of student's poster or comic strip, with name, grade and school will do.)

WE ARE OFFERING 2 OPPORTUNITIES TO SHOW US WHAT YOU GOT!

Let us know if your school, your class, your student, or any of your parents would wish to perform. We would love to take time for any individual or group who wishes to share the spotlight. Music, dance, art, poetry, skits, comedy...all is welcome.

If your school would like to bring a small display to show everyone a little about your program, please let us know so we can be sure to provide the space needed.

Your kindergarten to 5th grade French Immersion Students are invited to participate LGPN's Poster Contest! Choose between one of three themes: 1. “Voyage en Immersion…Oh, the Places I will go!” 2. “French Picnic” or 3. “Your School in the Future”
Winners will be announced at the event and prizes awarded. Submissions are due by February 25th. Guidelines will be emailed.

Come celebrate French immersion in Louisiana and pay homage to our Francophone heritage! Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the West Baton Rouge Museum.
