Sharing how to arrange flowers into a fresh pumpkin.
All flowers and foliages provided by @fabulousfloral
Flowers include: Symbol roses, Aurelia spray roses, persimmons, bronze amaranth, nine bark, alstroemerias. Butterfly ranunculus, and burgundy grasses.
First, prepare your pumpkin by cleaning it out, spray with cooking spray as the oil protects your pumpkin, and add fresh water for your flowers.
Second, mechanic of choice is curly willow, much easier for cleanup compared to chicken wire or a base. Whole arrangement can go into compost when it’s time to discard.
Next — add flowers and foliage!
Voila ✨ ✨
A fabulous arrangement for your autumn inspired table!

In my last post I shared how I use a metal rose stripper to clean the bottom of hardy fir stems, a useful tool this time of year.
One of my flower friends, Ashley, replied how she likes to use @gardenpartybainbridge rose stripper for this purpose. This particular rose stripper was designed by a local-to-me floral designer, TJ of @gardenpartybainbridge . This is my favorite tool for processing roses, yet I hadn’t tried it on winter greens. So here goes, a video to show the results. This tool will keep your hands even cleaner and less dinged up than the old fashioned metal tool!
This tool can be found at @floralsupplysyndicate , locally at @northwest_wholesale_florists and online on @amazon

Preparing a long & low centerpiece for my Thanksgiving table.
The mechanics for this floral arrangement is … chicken wire. Yes, a waterproof lining in the rectangular box with a burrito shape of chicken wire, a light tape grid to hold it in place and it’s plenty sturdy to design in.
Using the spinner helps keep the arrangement from becoming one sided, highly recommend always using a spinner.
Hope you all are having a nice weekend 🍂

Savoring every last minute of the dahlias, these are from my last harvest and I’ve been keeping them in the cooler … I have a feeling I’m not the only one holding onto the last of the dahlias in a cooler 😁
Looking for something special to treat yourself to? Might I suggest joining me next spring for a floral retreat in the Italian countryside .. yes, it’s as delightful as it sounds!
We’ll be staying in the enchanting village of Città della Pieve where we’ll partake in floral design lessons, try our hands at making pasta, and enjoy a wine tasting session. We’ll spend a day at the idyllic flower farm @PuscinaFlowers where we’ll enjoy a delightful tour of the gardens, featuring hundreds of varieties of flowers, followed by onsite floral design instruction, and a break where we’ll enjoy a casual, farm-style lunch, overlooking the rolls hills of Tuscany. All the details of this delightful experience can be found on StradaToscana.com under retreats and the title: Fiori della Toscana with Alicia

Enjoying the summer flowers 🌸
Oh glory be, it’s clematis season!!
Magnificent blooms in the rose beds, a few have already bloomed out and a few more varieties to come.
My mom and I both have always adored clematis and I’m pleased I finally found their happy place in the garden.
PS- I left the original audio so you can hear the birds singing 💫💫
Last summer I took a watercolor class with Lorene Edwards Forkner ( @gardenercook ), it was a fascinating study on color and how to pick up nuances when looking at flowers and foliages. Now I’m thrilled to be hosting Lorene for this special class at my design studio in Snohomish, Washington!
Please join us for:
Seeing Color In The Garden
with
Lorene Edwards Forkner
Saturday, August 12th at 10am
This class will be taking at my studio - @Fleurs.Creative
Color is about seduction. It is both a delightful gift and one of nature’s most sophisticated tools to capture the attention of all living creatures.
In this workshop, Lorene will talk about color, it’s role in a pleasing landscape, and how her daily practice, which she posts on Instagram @gardenercook, has introduced an expansiveness to the way she views the world. Following this introduction, participants will participate in a hands-on exercise using watercolors to record colors found in fragments of the natural world, a tiny blossom, a leaf, or a twig. This is not botanical illustration, but as an exercise in learning to see with fresh eyes and an opportunity to slow down, focus, and savor the season.
Following Lorene’s introduction and talk about color, participants will create a nature-based color study using materials supplied at the class.
