Our last grand Marshall to introduce is Brian McSween! Read some more about Brian and come see him tomorrow at the parade. 4pm step off!
“Brian McSween was raised in Hudson, NY by his two parents, Stephen and Carmella McSween of Trinidad and Guyana. He is the father of Rhylee Brooklyn McSween. He is a 2011 Hudson High School Graduate and President of the Class of 2011; lettering in 3 sports: football, basketball, and baseball and participated in many extracurricular activities. Brian went on to attend the Columbia-Greene Community College, graduating in 2014 with an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice. Brian joined the United States Army Reserves in May of 2014 serving with the 1018th Quartermaster Company of Schenectady, NY. Brian joined the military and acquired the character traits of loyalty, respect, selfless service, honor, and integrity which helped him transition into his current career in Law Enforcement. Brian attended the Zone 14 Law Enforcement Academy in 2017 and started working with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy Sheriff assigned to the road patrol. Brian has served in many positions and attended many trainings while employed at CCSO; such as Shared Service Response Team Operator, School Resource Deputy, Animal Cruelty Investigator, Field Training Officer, and many more. Prior to establishing his career in Law Enforcement, Brian was and still is a proud member of his Hudson Community. Brian worked at the Hudson Youth Center, coached football at Hudson High School, and mentored young men within the Barack Obama’s My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) initiative and now serves a board member for the Columbia County Youth Bureau. In August of 2022, Brian received the Sankofa Community Service Award which honors community members who have been exemplary in a variety of roles around the community. In October of 2022, Brian was selected as one of Columbia Counties Inaugural 40 under 40. Brian would like to thank his Hudson community and his family for the years of support and encouragement. “
