We all know the importance of shopping small this weekend, but let’s not forget about supporting local food businesses too! 🍴 This time of year can be make or break for so many, and your support truly makes a difference.

Here are 3 simple ways to support local this weekend and throughout the holiday season:

1️⃣ Eat Local: Got friends and family visiting? Skip the chain restaurants and take them to your favorite local spot. A win for everyone!

2️⃣ Buy Gift Cards: Gift cards are the perfect way to introduce loved ones to a local restaurant or small business they might not have tried before.

Pittsburgh Pickle is a big dill! Did you know they patented the unique way they cut their cucumbers so anyone can recognize their pickles by sight? Known as “Crown Cuts,” these pickles have a flat bottom with a crinkled top that forms a crown-like shape. Try their fresh, crunchy pickles at this year’s Hometown Homegrown event on November 2nd!

🥘Changing lives through the power of food!

Community Kitchen Pittsburgh (CKP) has been transforming lives since 2013 by offering free culinary training, job placement, and transitional employment, helping nearly 500 individuals find stable jobs in the Pittsburgh culinary scene. Not only that, but CKP fights food insecurity by preparing thousands of meals every week for programs like Meals on Wheels and services for houseless neighbors.
