A lot of people don’t know my full story so here it is. First, before we get into story mode I want to thank for capitulating this picture!

👩‍🍳 Tasha Helton | Founder of The Common Cookie 🍪

From humble beginnings in 2021, The Common Cookie started as a home-based business. After 1.5 years, we made a bold move to a 100% gluten-free menu. Sales dipped and customers waned, but my passion for providing allergy-friendly treats never wavered. By summer 2023, amidst family health struggles, I faced a devastating decision: to close our doors in December 2023. 💔

Then, a miracle happened in October 2023. A local coffee shop requested our dough for wholesale, and it became an instant hit, breathing new life into The Common Cookie. Just as we were gaining traction, I was told I needed major back surgery for scoliosis. I was crushed, knowing I couldn’t work for at least 3 months and on top of that how would the Common Cookie survive?😔🙏 That is when I decided I couldn’t do this on my own.

But fate intervened. Within a week, I secured a commercial kitchen space and license—unheard of speed! With incredible new team members (you know who you are), I trained them at home post-surgery, amidst the whirlwind of our business’s rapid growth. Joining the PCBA program through Pierce Co. unlocked new projects, setting us up for leaps and bounds of growth. 🚀

Our journey has been a rollercoaster of luck, prayer, and relentless passion & grit. There are many times we have been knocked down but I’m forever thankful that God, family, friends and you made this dream a reality.

To our amazing customers: your support means the world. We have so much in store, and we’re excited for the future. At The Common Cookie, so uncommonly good, anything it’s anything but common. 🌟🍪

For our evening show there will be a new food delivery service onsite thanks to a new partnership with our downtown restaurants! During the daytime coffee, drinks, and scoops will be on site for refreshing morning treats! We are excited to see you all there!
