Behind the Scenes: Always on the lookout for light and locale! 💡

Even when I'm "off-duty" and enjoying a quick family trip to Santa Cruz, I can't help but notice the incredible light, the textures in the sand, and the perfect backdrops. 📸 This beautiful beach is officially on my location scouting list for future sessions!

It’s all about finding that balance: fueling my creativity with moments like this, then stepping back to just enjoy the view (and my sister's company! ). I believe that recharging is just as important as the shoot itself.

Finding Creative Inspiration Everywhere 🌊💡

I took a much-needed break to recharge, and I'm coming back to work inspired and energized! My annual birthday trip is always the perfect source of creative energy.

From the vast, undulating glow of the Field of Light at Sensorio installation in Paso Robles last year, to the charming, vibrant colors of the Capitola Venetian Court this year, California truly has it all!

We had such a wonderful time at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Seeing the playful seals and sea lions was a huge highlight, their energy was infectious! And my birthday dinner at the romantic Shadowbrook in Capitola was the perfect ending to the adventure.

I hope this visual journey inspires you today! Don't forget to look for inspiration in the details all around you.

Just wanted to give you a little peek into my photographer brain today! When I'm not editing or shooting, I'm usually out scouting new locations...and yes, it basically looks like I'm just taking a hike. 😉

But really, I'm hunting for the perfect light, checking how the sun hits that exact spot at 4:30 PM, and making sure that little hidden path will give us the most beautiful, natural backdrop for your family sessions!

It's all part of the fun! Finding that magical spot where your memories come to life is definitely my favorite treasure hunt. 🧡
