Happy weekend, y’all!
Flags are up in our back garden and at the front of our house.
Remember why pride is still important.
It is a protest to show we stand up for those who still aren’t able to exist safely as their true selves where they live - including our trans siblings who are constantly under fire almost everywhere just for existing - you all matter and belong amongst the rest of us.
It should also be a celebration of joy, for those of us who can live as our authentic selves (for the most part) and for the communities we create around us.
My first pride in about 8 years that I’m not working in some way or other (stupid ear issues), so see you around town over the weekend.

So this f*ck!ng sucks!
I’ve been dealing with a persistent ear infection for a couple of weeks that over the counter and prescription meds didn’t clear. Went back to docs as I still have no mid/high frequencies and loud tinnitus in that ear and it’s still painful. Turns out the infection has ruptured my eardrum and has got into my middle ear. More antibiotics and painkillers.
Prognosis is unclear for now as we need to wait for the infection and inflammation to clear to see how badly my eardrum is damaged and see if it will heal itself. Given I can blow air out of my ear it might not be good.
At best I’m likely looking at a couple of months to heal and get my hearing back. At worst I need surgery that may still not fully restore my full range of hearing.
In the meantime, no DJing, no loud music or loud environments, no headphones and just gotta hope for the best.
In one form or other, music has always been a big part my life since I was a kid. I’m trying to stay positive, but it’s scary to think I might not get my hearing back fully on that side.
Not looking for sympathy or positive vibes comments - just letting people know I’m out of action for a while and venting into the void a little.
If you wanna do something to cheer me up, vote out Tories in the upcoming local elections.

It's one of my favourite places for a sunset drink, as it has one of the best views in Margate.

Tonight is the fundraiser for .margate at - fab lineup of lovely folks! I'll be there supporting and maybe throwing a shape.
