🇺🇸We might be biased, but having a wedding planner in some capacity is key to making sure your wedding day is as seamless as possible. You might be asking yourself, “but can I even afford a planner?”

Planners like our business can have a few different packages to best fit your planning needs. In general, you can expect to spend around 3-5% of your total budget on an event management package where the planner comes in closer to the wedding day, and 10-18% on a planner that is guiding you from start to finish.

They are experts that have strong relationships with vendors. They are the unbiased third party to help diffuse family tension and opinions. No matter the size or budget of the event, having a wedding planner on your team is invaluable.

🇺🇸Your wedding day is probably the largest and most elaborate event you have planned to date. There can be a tremendous amount of details and vendors to put together to make this one day happen, and the reality is, it all costs something and can add up very quickly.

You may have thought to budget your big ticket items (venue, photography, flowers, food, and beverage, etc.), but what about those items that aren’t as top of mind when creating your budget? I’ve listed my top items that are commonly forgotten about when creating a budget.

💰Getting ready space; you may need to pay for your room the night before to have access early the next morning or add extra hours onto your venue rental

💰Additional beauty needs prior to the wedding day: hair and makeup trials, waxing, tanning, skin treatment, etc.

💰Ceremony sound equipment

💰Shipping + postage for stationery; oversized envelopes, different shaped invitations, vintage stamps all play a part in adding to cost

💰Welcome bag fees; some hotels charge an average of $5 per bag to hand out or deliver welcome gifts to your hotel guests

💰Late night/after hour charges for rental companies

🇺🇸 OK yes, the day is about the two of you and it’s important to select a date and location that is meaningful, but unless you are eloping, you likely want your closest friends and family there to celebrate. So before you go announcing your wedding date and saying yes to a venue, check with your VIPs to make sure the date and location can work for them. Who are your VIPs? These could be:
👉 Parents
👉 Siblings
👉 Best friends you want as your wedding party
👉 Heck maybe it’s even the one photographer you’ve been eying forever and want to make sure they are able to capture your wedding

Friends and family are likely already asking you tons of questions you may not know the answer to - after all, you just got engaged and would like to soak in this feeling! Once you’ve celebrated and spent time living in the moment, here are three conversation topics I want you to have with your partner!

Other than you and your partner, who will be involved in the decision-making process?

What is your budget comfort zone and who is contributing?

What are your and your partner's top priorities for the wedding day? Make a list of your top 3 and see what you have in common. This could be music, food, decor, location, etc.

🇺🇸 One of the most important aspects of planning a wedding but it’s not always set or managed correctly is Your Wedding Budget.

There’s a few myths about weddings such as thinking that a backyards wedding or a DIY can be the answer to saving money… but in the end you will find out that you have spent almost the same amount of money AND time AND energy!

One of the most common advice we give couples every time we do a consultation is “Do no spend any money without having a budget”. There are couples who start spending without realizing that there can be dozens of understimated weddings costs: Alterations, tips, vendor, meals; every detail count.

Of course, hiring a wedding planner is great way to keep you within budget and also make smart decisions when hiring your vendor team

🇻🇪 Uno de los aspectos más importantes de la planificación de una boda, pero que no siempre se establece o administra correctamente, es el presupuesto de su boda.

Hay algunos mitos sobre las bodas, como pensar que una boda en el patio trasero o un bricolaje pueden ser la respuesta para ahorrar dinero... ¡pero al final descubrirás que has gastado casi la misma cantidad de dinero, tiempo y energía.

Uno de los consejos más comunes que damos a las parejas cada vez que hacemos una consulta es “No gasten dinero sin tener un presupuesto”. 🇺🇸 We recentky heard "My partner told me to stop planning!" 😱... Wedding planning can definely be stressful, so don’t let planning the wedding become the only goal in your newly engaged live. We highly recommend making time to do fun stuff together: Sign up for a marathon, take up diving lessons, learn to dance and plan a special performance at your wedding!

Whatever it is; choose something to achieve as a couple which doesn’t have to be about planning the wedding. You’ll be surprised at how much closer you will feel and how easy it will be to find other things to talk about beyond the wedding decor, colors and day-of logistics.

🇺🇸 These colorful wedding had me in awe, and since gave us the color of 2023 I haven’t stopped thinking about it.

To quote pantone "Viva Magenta is brave and fearless, and a pulsating color whose exuberance promotes a joyous and optimistic celebration, writing a new narrative". And it really is that and more whenever a couple decides to make colors like these be part of their wedding color palette.

I know that according to Pantone there's also a psychological, emotional component. Pantone says magenta balances boldness and fun, confidence and humanity. It likens that to how digital spaces have accelerated globalization, allowing people to connect with others and deepen their empathy.
