Another wonderful year attending .ab (formally Inshala) festival with the family. It was great hanging with everyone, dancing, doing yoga, relaxing at the beach and of course, playing techno.

Playing on meticulously crafted sound system is always such a treat, it sounded even better this year. It’s like listening to music with an amazing set of headphones on, but at the same time you can have a conversation on the dance floor and hear every word the person is saying.

I really had so much fun performing, thank you to all the techno heads who went on that ride with me. I’ve already listened to the recording and it has my stamp of approval, so watch for it soon.

Bonlando - Live at the Cube Winnipeg

This was an incredible gig and was recorded downtown Winnipeg at "The Cube" on Saturday June 8th, 2024 for the long running MEMETIC festival.

I have been playing techno since 1999, and I put many of my favourite tracks from the past 25 years into my crate and this is the result.

This 4 channel DJ set using Traktor Pro 4 is perfect for techno purists, and won't scare away the casual techno listener as this gig was on a multi-genre stage. It is a very "Carl Cox" inspired set.

5 gigs for 5 incredible crews over the next couple of months. This is crazy because thats the same number of gigs I had all last year! In my 25 years of being involved in Calgary’s electronic music scene, we’ve never had this much hype for this genre we call techno and I’m here for it.

Echo Locations: Reflexions @ Loophole Coffee Bar@

Closing the little coffee shop down from 2:30-4am. I’m told to play whatever I want as long as it is techno. Easy. The guys at Echo locations run a sweet record label that I’m a huge fan of and I’m very excited to play for them.

Silent Tension: Dungeon Dance Club w/ Alan Oldham Music aka DJ T-1000

Opening up for DJ T-1000 from Berlin/Detroit. The Kids at Silent Tension are a great bunch of techno enthusiasts and I’ll be bringing the proper techno.

Another new crew to play for, and these guys like it hard. Adriana Lopez is fantastic and I’ll be warming up with some hypnotic, dark and twisted s**t. Can’t wait.

FYI I’m using Traktor but Rekordbox and Serato all have loops, coupons and beatjump.

In DJing, phrasing refers to the alignment of phrases of two tracks in a mix. This allows the transition between the tracks to be done without breaking the musical structure.

Throwback to 2002 (age 21) when one of the only connections to raves out east was in magazine form via that you could pick up at one of the few record stores.

#1/2 - two covers of important issues that i kept safe and sound

#3 - if you mailed them your mix CD they would review some of them and print it in their reviews section! I was so proud of myself.

#4 - clip out of the Ad i entered that very mix in, and I won! It especially helped that I was going to WEMF anyways, and i was willing to play for exposure back then haha. The tribe tent was disorganized and had no monitors, but i made the most of it. Partied with friends like Patrick DSP, Chris Liberator and Bobby Brian Thrust.

#5 this is how we raved back then. I’m sorry to the kids born in the 90s and beyond that never got to experience this.

The first half of October has been one of the best few weeks of the year for new releases from some of the heavy hitters of underground techno. I've thrown what made my jaw drop the furthest on this hour-long, 35-track, 4-channel mix.

The mix starts off deep then gets going with some raw/hardgroove techno, peaks with some punishing hypnotic techno, and mellows you out with some more deep and hypnotic sounds. Enjoy!

Happy techno Tuesday everyone! After taking most of the summer off for studio mixes, I'm happy to share this new one with you.

This mix focuses on deep and dub techno with a lot of ethereal, spaced-out hypnotic techno and progresses to some more intense, darker, twisted stuff.

I really had fun layering these tracks together, looping, filtering, and k**b twisting, and I hope you enjoy listening to it.

Here is my 90-minute DJ set from a gig at Pure Psyence in June of 2023 let me explore techno's hypnotic and often driving side. I enjoyed layering all these tracks, samples, textures, and effects on an excellent sound system (should out to Ionic sound from Calgary).
