Third in our series of what post-wedding regrets sound like from couples who didn’t have a planner or coordinator to support them: Designating a recipient of personal items!
*As the wedding day approaches, it’s super easy to get overwhelmed by ads and last minute trends. Plan ahead for 12th hr shopping sprees by adding a note in your planning checklist to brace or budget for this. This is permission to not buy the custom reserved ceremony seat signs etc.
*As you pack, clearly label and preassemble items as necessary (paper goods, easels, framed photos, etc). Reminder: Es**rt cards should be sorted alphabetically by last then first name. Place cards should be bagged with table numbers by table, ideally in order from seat 1+ per your seating assignments. Include photos of any mockups like placesettings and an inventory so your setup team can check off items at setup and strike.
*We recommend plastic totes with lids and rolling luggage for storing and transporting your personal items.
*Plan the who/what/when/where/why/how of your personal items arriving at your venue(s). When does the venue allow drop offs? How much and what sizes are allowed? Will it be stored in a locked or unlocked space? Who is dropping it off and do they have room in their vehicle? Where else are they expected to be? i.e. dropping off on the way to the rehearsal etc. Send a photo for proof of drop off to your coordinator or planner so they can share with their setup team.
*Plan the whole/what/when/where/why/how of your personal items being repacked and removed from your venue(s). SPW stays to the end of your event unless hourly so we repack and hand off your items to your designated recipient. Be sure to pick a responsible and not intoxicated adult who has a car or isn’t leaving too early in the evening. If there is room on your final guest shuttle we can help load your items onto that.
*Detail priorities and valuable items (vaue & sentiment) in your inventory so folks working with them can be aware.
