It's all in the details. We pulled together the client's vision of a winter wonderland. Snowy birch trees, lamp posts decked out in winter greenery, snowflakes and snowmen. Uplighting and illuminated tables and bars all add to the vision.

This week I’m working on a holiday program in San Francisco and the theme is Winter Wonderland! The creation of this has been a joint effort with the client and Relevé.

For now, I wanted to share how I find inspiration. When I think of a Winter Wonderland scene I think of white snow covered scenery, twinkling lights, cool blue tones and icicles! I feel the chill in the air and want to warm up with hot cocoa. Each snowflake is a work of art which falls softly on bare branches to create a magical scene.

I take these concepts and incorporate them into our final design. I can’t wait to show you how we transformed the Palace Hotel into a Winter Wonderland! Watch for the before and after images later this week!

On this Veterans Day I wanted to recognize a local Walnut Creek organization that is helping Veterans with their struggles; Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF). This organization saw a need to change the lives of Veterans suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injuries, anxiety, severe depression, agoraphobia and more.

The agency also saw the need to help the tremendous number of animals on death row at shelters. They decided to find a way to help these animals and Veterans. Their mission is to provide mental health support by transforming rescue animals into emotional support animals and trained service dogs. This will help with anxiety reduction, inspire relationship building, renewed sense of purpose and lower heart blood pressure.

Personally, I love what they are doing to provide such needed help by rescuing dogs and providing help to our vets at no cost. “The program is saving both ends of the leash, the rescue dogs and the Veteran. And they need volunteers to help be part of that.” To find out more about the program go to www.arflife.org

Tracey is a social media expert and Certified Partner for Constant Contact; she coaches entrepreneurs in how to grow their business using social media and provides total management for their email marketing campaigns. She is a 2022 Silicon Valley Woman of Influence, Alignable's 2022 Local Businessperson of the Year for San Jose as well as a Top 25 U.S. Business Mentor of 2021. Just to name a few…

I’m proud to say my latest collaboration is with a full-service event production and destination management company, Relevé Unlimited. I am proud to be onboard with them and excited for the future! When I worked with them on a program earlier this year I found their passion and dedication to excellence was a perfect match with my own qualities. They pride themselves on being a one-stop-shop and take care of everything for their clients just like I do. My clients know that I want the best experience for them and Relevé makes that same commitment. It was just meant for me to come on board. Relevé is the French ballet term for “on your toes” and “reach higher". Perfect fit!

I thrive on organization, knowing where things are but yet making it all inviting and comfortable. A place where one wants to linger or find refuge and line of vision. My biggest need is color, shapes and flowers. I once was told by a former elementary school mom that my home style was “eclectic”. I think she meant it as a put down. I took it as a huge compliment!

What do you love to do outside in the Summer?

For me the list is endless! I love concerts, swimming & floating. Long days, warm evenings for lingering outside. Outdoor movies in the backyard, gathering friends together to hang out. Beach days, bike rides, cold slices of watermelon.

It's Tasty Tuesday! Why not try this recipe?!

Cucumber Cooler Muddle Cocktail!
A cool and refreshing quality cocktail or Mocktail with fresh mint & cucumber is a must during the summer months. This recipe is light & delicious as well as easy to make.

Ingredients
1 ½ oz of gin or vodka
4-6 slices of peeled cucumber
6-8 mint leaves
4 oz. tonic, I prefer Fever-Tree Premium Indian Tonic Water (the gold label)
1 shaker (or a large 16 oz drinking glass)
1 muddler (or use a wooden spoon if you don’t own a muddler)
Ice
Lime wedge

Instructions
Add 6-8 ice cubes, gin or vodka plus mint and cucumber to your shaker and muddle
Shake vigorously (or stir well)
Pour mixture into another glass filled with ice and top off with tonic water.
Stir well to mix the flavors, garnish with a lime wedge and enjoy!

I remember when I first started my business as a full-time career. It was 2000 and I finally decided to take the leap to work full-time in my catering business. I was scared but knew it was the right thing to do. What I thought was a jump off a cliff turned into a step off of the curb and it was easy! Best thing I’ve ever done for myself and my family.

Yesterday was National Best Friends Day....

I have found through the years that naming someone as your best friend is really limiting. What about business best friends, or my daughter as my best friend, or my sister's best friend and my all time favorite, the one that I can lean on, cry and celebrate with?

Today I chose my long time best friends and here comes trouble…Laura Vargas and Pat Hampton Hayes. No matter what the situation or place there is always loads of laughter, uncontrollable giggles and many hugs!

How do I stay inspired?

I’m always looking, reading, and cataloging ideas that catch my eye. When I see something that I want to create I’ll take a photo, screenshot etc. and categorize it to seasons, decor etc. Sounds complicated but not really!

Last month was busy with a client appreciation program at the new Four Seasons hotel in Calistoga. It was three days of whirlwind activities such as a private dinner at Promontory Winery. A self-guided tour through the 45,000 square foot subterranean winery cave at Jarvis, followed by a seated tasting of six estate and reserve wines in the Crystal Chamber. Lunch at Bottega in Yountville then off to Stags Leap for more delicious wines! Finally culminating in a beautiful dinner buyout at Press Restaurant in St. Helena. The atmosphere was outstanding, the menu delicious and the company even better!

Have you ever created something that turned into something greater than you thought originally?

I created a Master Minds group for entrepreneurial women to learn, share advice, solve problems together, and to promote one another to achieve success.

One and a half years ago I had this idea that I wanted to bring like minded women together to explore, share, teach and learn with each other on topics that were interesting and we each faced in growing our business’. It was to be a Master Minds group that started out as 2 groups of up to 6 women who would commit to a 3 month trial and meet once per month.

Those two groups are still going strong and another group has morphed into another group!

May is National Mental Health month.

Making a priority for yourself is key to mental health. For me, I meditate for 30 mins daily. Before I go for my morning cappuccino, news updates, checking email or workout I start quietly getting my day rolling on an even keel.

How my company goes above and beyond for clients:

I always like to think that I serve my clients with a white glove approach. I put my clients first, I listen and pay attention to the minute details and strive to capture it all in unexpected ways. My reputation is built upon your results. It is all about exceeding my clients expectations. Sometimes it's just the smallest of details like the floral arrangements that are customized to the event or whimsical pops of color that bring in the unexpected element of surprise. Other times it could be the simple but elegant style of how a table is set, from the flatware, to the plates and unexpected tablescaping such as adding height and dimension, texture and conversation starters to the tablescaping.
