“Are you still doing your Celebrant work?” Yessiree, sure am! Just embracing and going with the flow of winter… snuggly early nights in, couples meetings, ceremony writing, officiating weddings & funerals & as always keeping the work, whānau & personal balance real. Being at ease with the juggle is important as if the balance isn’t there something gives… My priorities are crystal clear and how my time is spent - so when I’m with you (being a client, whānau or a friend) - I’m 💯 with you ❤️ such a treat to catch up for lunch with friend & Celebrant colleague the wonderful we could talk for hours! On the same page about much & aligned values. Just what winter is for…planting the seeds for spring, venturing out for meaningful connections & school holiday fun with the kids ❤️

There were many moments that my breath was taken away this afternoon. Walking up the driveway of I was taken back to the last time I was here for a wedding.. the very first wedding at Greenmantle, that of my friends I was a guest. This was the family home and the altar in the Nikau forest (still there today) built for them. With nothing changed inside, I was taken immediately back to that hot summers day in January almost 20 years ago. The reception was by the pool, just like today and garden providing a naturally beautiful backdrop. There was something very special unfolding at Greenmantle today, with the marriage of two beautiful people. We all knew just how special this union was, for many reasons and those in attendance were some of their nearest. The sounds of children, laughter, sighs of happiness, tears of joy and a peacefulness that love brings. Just like marriage, it’s great to have flexibility on your wedding day. There were many changes with todays ceremony but this Celebrant was prepared and it was seamless and just want the couple wanted…this one is locked in my heart box. The couple put so much into planning this special day but never lost sight of what is most truly important… each other ❤️ lovely to work with & .nz marriagecelebrantwellington

Ahh love was sure in the air today. A beautiful heartfelt union for this lovely couple in Kāpiti. At the brides family home tucked away between the hills. The sun was warm & bright but enough cloud cover for some great pics! Family & friends flocked from far & wide over the globe and locally. There were many vendors making today a success. A couple of photographers, including one a very close good friend & videography by travel video. Fab stretch tent by .levin keeping that hot autumn Kāpiti sun at bay. Another Saturday feeling grateful that I was asked to be a part of a couples very special day ❤️ Food thanks to Duchy Foodtruck. Signing table set up & flowers by lovely neighbour 🌸…another phew I’m glad I wore waterproof mascara moment! 2nd photo the promised river swim with my boys after - soooo good, so refreshing and warm at 6pm! celebrant

Getting married under the willow trees with Kāpiti Island in the background was just what the lovely couple I married today wanted. Pounamu rings made just for them by a local Kāpiti jeweller and the love & support of their nearest & dearest. Having already known the family after supporting them in farewelling their dearly loved & cherished family member. Both such beautiful people inside & out. When you make sure the wedding party have tissues and you’re the first to cry! This afternoon’s ceremony, a very special one to me - marrying friends in a very intimate wedding ceremony only 5 mins from home in Waikanae. He’s a glimpse of one the many beautiful spots in the garden. The sun was out, loving vibes on, and the beautiful greenery of Waikanae the perfect backdrop. It’s always an honourable position to be in, but marrying friends really is tops ❤️

Another heartfelt wedding ceremony at the wonderful . I always enjoy working with the team at Ohariu Farm.
This couple’s gorgeous little one cheered and clapped his gorgeous wee hands when I introduced his proud parents as husband & wife. Although only 1yrs, he could sense the specialness of the occasion and like all the guests had a great time! Beautiful day for an intimate wedding at the wonderful Matai Huka Gardens, Paraparaumu. Short & most sweet which was just what the couple wanted. My first Wedding of the year ❤️ I always have a month from Christmas til after Wgtn anniversary off to spend with my husband & children so don’t officiate over that time. But now, roll on with the love my 2024 couples ❤️

Pit stop for a coffee & ginger gem whilst looking out to the long grass and hills. The beginnings & endings of life ❤️this past week has sure been one of them.. beginnings of married life and for some endings of their family as they know it. Feeling incredibly grateful to be there in the good times and the sad. To be there to guide and help loved ones through their toughest times … the whole reason I trained as a Celebrant. It’s definitely a dig deep when working on a funeral for a loved one and wear waterproof mascara when standing up to officiate a farewell service. It’s been a big week of milestones ending, a loved life ending but looking forward to marrying a very very special couple on Sunday and then celebrating & officiating the wonderful life of my dear friend - it will be a celebration of the love & brightness she brought to life….dress code: colourful & bright ❤️

Super cute shell ring holder at todays precious wedding ceremony for N & S witnessed by an intimate group of family & friends. I always have tissues at the ready for the couple at the altar but eek not today and aswell as the bride, I needed them! I was moved to tears seeing the bride walk down the aisle to her awaiting husband to be and their precious little one ❤️

First wedding of the 2023/24 wedding season went off with a blast… a windy blast with a touch of rain to be exact! As always the team were at the ready for plan B and a call was made 15 mins before ceremony start being a small wedding. The guests stayed in the warm then came outside for the ceremony just as it was about to start. The bride had her heart set on getting married outside and her wish came true . I loved working with M & S to create the ceremony perfect for them and to make all their guests feel welcome - those with us in person and family in China joining us via livestream. Love was definitely in the air today. Great to pull out my on-site kit ready for the season ahead.. blowing out the cobwebs of winter and energy past and stepping forward into a Spring & Summer of love 🌸❤️ lovely to work with and the Ohariu Farm crew. Kept my late Grandma close wearing her locket and birthday earrings from a great friend - keeping the love & good vibes close

“I believe we are all connected” were the words of the wonderful manager tonight as I spoke of my dear late friend and how 25 years ago we would sit at the table (pointing to the table still there) and how this was our weekly or fortnightly catch up ritual at Jugnus Little India, we always ordered the same thing and when it was on a ‘Sex & the City’ night (90s TV show) we would go back to our flat and watch it with milky bar. I wept as I told her that even when my friend could no longer speak or write she would still get a birthday card to me (her sister would write and post it to me). I told the staff member whose father owns that so much more happens in a restaurant than simply eating.. there is connection and tonight I connected with my family to celebrate my birthday. The first without my adored Grandma, there were lots of tears. Tears of misses, tears of gratitude and tears of joy for who and I what have in my life. Before we left 3 staff members came singing happy birthday to me with a bday cake and candle for me and my late friend Gina (her bday in October too) to make a bday wish for me and a bday wish for Gina. You never know when grief will sweep you off your feet but hope, connection and love can always be found close by to reassure you that love has never stopped and is always at arms reach you just need to connect. Grateful for another year of great health, loving family & friends and beautiful loving humans just waiting to connect. Let’s go 48 ❤️

These two, S & A .. an absolute honour to marry this couple in March this year. Such beautiful people inside & out and a privilege to work with them as their dream wedding went just as they planned. You could feel the love and admiration from their family & friends in attendance and I enjoyed witnessing their families so happy for them both. I had officiated the groom’s grandmothers farewell so it was extra special to be a part of their special day. Like me their grandmother was a huge part of their lives and there was no doubt she was beaming the hot sun of the day being a sun love herself 😍 Today when I was writing ceremonies, my mind wandered to the lovely couples I had married and all the unique ceremonies reflecting them and this beautiful and caring couple. I thought a lot about my late Grandma who loved to hear about the weddings, what everyone was wearing, what I was wearing and who was so in love with her beautiful husband. I got thinking… this will be my first birthday coming up that I won’t see or speak to her in my life :(…the heart aches, the heart mends… and then driving in car this evening confirmation she’s with me when Bill Withers ‘Grandma’s Hands’ came on. Blessings all round ❤️ #

All the feels seeing this photo pop up on one of those ‘on this day’ google slides. This wedding was incredibly special to me. It was an intimate whānau wedding with all those in attendance right here in this pic - L & T and their beautiful tāmariki and baby on the way. I’m always grateful for the honour of writing & officiating wedding ceremony’s for in love couples. Each of these family members are wonderful in their own right and as one they are a family full of love and togetherness ❤️photo captured beautifully by the wonderful .photography ❤️

Your special day, I’m there to guide you all the way. Flash back to L & G’s wedding close to their home at the beach in Eastbourne. These loved birds reconnected at their High School reunion decades later. The love between them is beautiful. Their children were their wedding party and an important part of their day. Their early dates were at the wonderful close to my home and to remind them of this special place and time in their lives gettimg to know each other, resident band ‘Black Eyed Susie’ entertained their family & friends. I loved getting to know and working with L & G and look forward to catching up for a bev with them back at S & W soon! Awesome with the fabulous .photography as always ❤️

That exciting moment for us all when two lovers exchange their vows and almost married ❤️
I loved working with this couple and when I just looked at this photo it reminded me of conversations enjoyed with them at our pre meetings and the excitement for them when the day arrived.

What you can’t see her was that I was fresh in grief after my grandmother's funeral the day before...We were extremely close and my heart was broken but at 98 yrs she gave me a LOT of love and that was something I drew on that day. Grandma enjoyed hearing about the weddings I officiated, hearing about the day, what the wedding party were wearing, what I was wearing. Some days when the weddings were close I would go and see her at the rest home in my fineries before I went.

It was in the peak of wedding season when she passed away… I attended a rehearsal hours before she passed away…the next day a couple of hours after I wheeled her out of the rest home to the awaiting hearse, I officiated a wedding a couple of hours later and thereafter helped the family plan her funeral. This was one funeral I could not officiate, I couldn’t hold space for others..I needed my time to grieve.

On the morning of her funeral I attended the rehearsal for this wonderful grateful in love couple, the best of friends and the morning after I officiated their wedding and look at me here all smiles!
Never forget how powerful love is and that even though one may not be here with you in the physical, their love for you will never end, it will unfold and present itself to you in many ways.. you just have to look, pause…little signs everywhere that you’re never alone. At this wedding an old friend I hadn’t seen for a few decades was a guest…the universe always provides.
This year has certainly been a busy one on the home front with many life happenings and I’m looking forward to putting time aside this weekend for writing wedding ceremonies, work of purpose, work of the heart..being of service ❤️Outstanding photography by the lovely last minute venue change, held at the wonderful Matai Huka Garden Weddings

Mānawatia a Matariki ❤️feeling grateful that we can all pause on this day, gather with whanau and hold close those who have passed and those we cannot reach ❤️and to set our intentions for the year ahead. Being tangata whenua but not being brought up immersed in or or having access to my culture, these days are important for me to learn and connect more. Lovely to tune in to National Radio at dawn to the live recording at of the whāngai i te hautapu to hear the language that makes my heart sing which when the timing is right I will learn more of.

It's lovely when couples want to share a pic or two with me after their big day.

Even after their special day and those beautiful moments become memories, they remain special memories for me too.

Ha, I don't like so much sharing a testimonial about myself but it's great for new couples to get a sense of who I am and what I bring to my work...at the heart it is service.

In life change happens in a quick of flash so being flexible is helpful in all situations. These two had a few roadblocks which meant they had to change their wedding date, the rains came, my voice started to fade but they went with it, nothing was going to stop these love birds tying the knot and the pleasure was all mine.

She thinks of all the things that makes your special day all you dreamed of and more. I really can not recommend her more highly. An amazing human that is fabulous at what she does."
