Yesterday’s intimate registry style wedding ceremony was held in the garden of my lovely neighbour. I received a last minute call to marry a lovely, lovely local couple. The marriage was going to take place at the river but instead in this beautiful intimate private garden. Although the ceremony was short there was no shortage of love, joy and happiness for this very special couple. I love this beautiful bougainvillea that adorned over the signing table ❤️

These lovely two!

The bride wrote down for the year ahead what she wanted to bring into her life. On one particular year it was a life partner, and she wrote a few qualities that she thought would be a good match. And he appeared and ticked off all her hopes in abundance.

A moving intimate wedding ceremony with their closest circle and the BEST outcome of their love, their son in attendance.

The pouring rain certainly didn't put a damper on this heartwarming service! And seems we were twinning on the outfit colour.....the guests thought we'd planned a colour co-ord!
Oh, the faces that caught on camera! I'm not quite sure what we were laughing about here but laughter is always a great way for all to relax in a wedding ceremony.
I remain grateful for being asked to be a part of one of the most special days in a couple's life. It is a sacred moment in time ❤️

Home weddings 🌸just as perfect as having your wedding at a wedding venue. The feel of home and with that the instant relaxed vibes. Yesterday’s wedding for a lovely couple was held at their family friend’s house in Hautere, Te Horo. A small intimate wedding ceremony followed by a party with friends. If standing up in front of people comes hard for you, there are always ways a Celebrant can make your marriage ceremony work perfectly for you. Photo of a bunch of my fav flowers, peonies - taken at home where I was getting our home ready for a celebration of our own ❤️

Beautiful morning Waikanae around the block, breathing in that early morning fresh air and tuning in to the vibes of those walking with purpose heading towards Kāpiti today and supporting them in a stand that is close to my heart ♥️ 🖤🤍 Fabulous night last night for a friends 50th turned surprise wedding and an honour to marry them! Still hear the screams as I called up the birthday bride for a birthday toast and she walked down the stairs in a white wedding dress! The energy in the room was off the hook! So much love, so much awesomeness and good times!!

What a cracker in Waikanae today 🌞ahh it’s great to be back! I’ve been on pause for a bit looking after my health (with still a little bit of take it easy time to go). Feeling incredibly for every day and the beautiful moments of gratitude that pop up. I’ve been taking a photo daily of at least one thing I’m grateful for. Today it is feeling up to writing again and what an inspiring view for wedding ceremony writing. In the lounge, feet up on my beautiful ottoman and gazing out to our gorgeous garden view. The photo of the hills is taken from our garden and in those beautiful Waikanae hills at the wonderful glass chapel owned by friend & fellow celebrant Karen is where I will be officiating two weddings on Friday with the fab crew. Grateful to work with such wonderful humans and officiate heartfelt wedding ceremonies. 💯 blessed 🙏

These two... it has taken me a while to post a photo and write about this special couple and their wedding ceremony. For this day was truly one imprinted on my heart. Two wonderful caring and giving human beings drawn together from a solid friendship to love each other and to know they could never live a day apart.

We became friends before their wedding day arrived and our friendship will remain. A friendship of pure understanding and shared values of caring for the wellbeing of others.

This couple were very grateful for my work, guidance and support leading up to and on their special day and this was very much appreciated - as those who know me, know I put my heart & soul in whatever I undertake. When I give gratitude, it comes from a genuine place and there is honesty and mana behind my words. So, when I receive a thank you, words of gratitude - appreciation of what I bring, my work and and personality - it is encouraging and humbly received.

And just after the day I married them - I received an email and below was a little of what they had to say....

B and I just wanted to let you know how thankful and lucky we are to have had you as our celebrant on our special day. We couldn’t have done it without you. Our wedding wouldn’t be as special if it wasn’t you who put our story into beautiful words and made us officially each other’s home.

Thank you thank you so much for being so patient and accommodating with our wishes especially with B's little surprise changes.

Our friends really loved you and the way you delivered and organised the ceremony. They really admired and appreciated the effort you’ve put into our wedding day. After the wedding everyone kept on asking us whether we’ve known you for a while now because you seemed to really care about us (especially me). Thank you thank you so much for showing B and I such genuine care.

Again, words cannot express our gratitude towards you, not just for what you did for our wedding but simply for being you. You are an amazing person and we are very thankful that we’ve met you. I hope more people will get to know and appreciate how great you are in all of your ways.

“Are you still doing your Celebrant work?” Yessiree, sure am! Just embracing and going with the flow of winter… snuggly early nights in, couples meetings, ceremony writing, officiating weddings & funerals & as always keeping the work, whānau & personal balance real. Being at ease with the juggle is important as if the balance isn’t there something gives… My priorities are crystal clear and how my time is spent - so when I’m with you (being a client, whānau or a friend) - I’m 💯 with you ❤️ such a treat to catch up for lunch with friend & Celebrant colleague the wonderful we could talk for hours! On the same page about much & aligned values. Just what winter is for…planting the seeds for spring, venturing out for meaningful connections & school holiday fun with the kids ❤️

There were many moments that my breath was taken away this afternoon. Walking up the driveway of I was taken back to the last time I was here for a wedding.. the very first wedding at Greenmantle, that of my friends I was a guest. This was the family home and the altar in the Nikau forest (still there today) built for them. With nothing changed inside, I was taken immediately back to that hot summers day in January almost 20 years ago. The reception was by the pool, just like today and garden providing a naturally beautiful backdrop. There was something very special unfolding at Greenmantle today, with the marriage of two beautiful people. We all knew just how special this union was, for many reasons and those in attendance were some of their nearest. The sounds of children, laughter, sighs of happiness, tears of joy and a peacefulness that love brings. Just like marriage, it’s great to have flexibility on your wedding day. There were many changes with todays ceremony but this Celebrant was prepared and it was seamless and just want the couple wanted…this one is locked in my heart box. The couple put so much into planning this special day but never lost sight of what is most truly important… each other ❤️ lovely to work with & .nz marriagecelebrantwellington

Ahh love was sure in the air today. A beautiful heartfelt union for this lovely couple in Kāpiti. At the brides family home tucked away between the hills. The sun was warm & bright but enough cloud cover for some great pics! Family & friends flocked from far & wide over the globe and locally. There were many vendors making today a success. A couple of photographers, including one a very close good friend & videography by travel video. Fab stretch tent by .levin keeping that hot autumn Kāpiti sun at bay. Another Saturday feeling grateful that I was asked to be a part of a couples very special day ❤️ Food thanks to Duchy Foodtruck. Signing table set up & flowers by lovely neighbour 🌸…another phew I’m glad I wore waterproof mascara moment! 2nd photo the promised river swim with my boys after - soooo good, so refreshing and warm at 6pm! celebrant

Getting married under the willow trees with Kāpiti Island in the background was just what the lovely couple I married today wanted. Pounamu rings made just for them by a local Kāpiti jeweller and the love & support of their nearest & dearest. Kāpiti put on the perfect weather for their special day and so handy just over the river from my home ❤️ perfect spot for a wedding at Otaihanga Boat Club, moments captured by Megan & delicious food care of

When you make sure the wedding party have tissues and you’re the first to cry! This afternoon’s ceremony, a very special one to me - marrying friends in a very intimate wedding ceremony only 5 mins from home in Waikanae. He’s a glimpse of one the many beautiful spots in the garden. The sun was out, loving vibes on, and the beautiful greenery of Waikanae the perfect backdrop. It’s always an honourable position to be in, but marrying friends really is tops ❤️
