Our Story
Growing up I was always up for hosting a party (ask my poor mother...). Our house was the typical gathering place and if someone else was hosting, I was the first one there and had probably been day-dreaming about it for weeks beforehand. Wondering what kind of games we would play, what food was going to be served, how would they decorate? I didn’t realize planning parties could be an actual job. I met one of my closest friends and mentors during my junior year of college. Mary opened my eyes to the world of big scale events (think Emmy Awards, Kennedy Center and the like). She offered to have me come stay with her in Los Angeles for a summer if I could find an internship for my college credits. She gave me a few phone numbers to try and that was when I met my second mentor on this journey: Brooke Avishay. She is the owner of Orange Blossom Special Events in Los Angeles, CA and though they weren’t taking regular interns she said I was more then welcome to come assist on weddings with them for the summer. I cannot thank these two women enough because that summer was when I discovered that my passion could become a career. I learned so much over that summer and have been working on this passion ever since. I am so excited to make this dream a reality and bring to you Hooked Event Co.
The vision of Hooked Event Co. is to be more then just an event planning and coordinating business. Hooked Events believes in building relationships and focusing on satisfying the customers and vendors. Part of the goal is to boost other small businesses and work together so that we can all reach our highest potentials. The ultimate goal is to deliver a professional and well executed event while creating long lasting bonds in the process.
