Dazer Entertainment is a collection of multiple DJs, MCs, Photographers, and other Artists that help support each other in various projects and events. We also have a list of items that we can run for you at your event or rent out to you. Items like Snow Cone / Cotton Candy Machines, Photo Booths, Pipe n Drape, Lighting Columns, theatrical lighting that can be used to help decorate events with c

olorful up lighting, or the main lighting for a musical or theatrical program. Our artists can help provide you with backdrop murals, special props, and more for any event. We also are engaged with community projects at reduced and in a few rare cases for free. Have a project in mind? Contact us! Consultations are always free. Even if the main company is not able to take on your project, its possible one of our members or an associate of ours might decide to help out. A word about pricing: Of course we have to charge enough for our services to afford to keep doing this; however, we also understand that not everyone has $1000+ to spend on their event. We have smaller/simpler setups, as well as other programs to help out those that are on tight budgets. Simply let us know up front what your reasonable budget is, and we will see if we can work with you to make things happen while staying inside your budget. If your budget is too low, we may know a few people to refer you to.

While we prefer doing events in the greater Springfield/Eugene area. We have done events as far north as Camano, Washington (just north of Seattle), all the way down to San Francisco, California. We also usually do a few events each year over in the Bend, Oregon area. Normally I encourage people to find an event service provider a little closer to them to save money - but some people just thing we are worth the extra $$$ to cover travel. So, if you REALLY want us, we will be there for you.

Had an awesome weekend DJing for Diana and Jame's wedding on Saturday out at the beautiful The Inn at Diamond Woods (Golf Range), wonderful venue - with a very helpful and wonderful staff.

A special shout out to Callee Ackland of Event Crush - best event coordinator we have worked with in years!

The schedule she helped the couple come up with was amazingly detailed, and insiteful - for the first time in awhile, we actually picked up some pointers. During our planning sessions she was attentive, and helpful. At the wedding, she was calm, cheerful, and on top of everything. It was great working with her.

If you can afford, and want an Event Coordinator for your Wedding or other event... I would highly recommend contacting Callee and seeing if she is available. https://www.facebook.com/EventCrush

Tip to couples on a tight budget. Want an outdoor venue, but don't have 1-5K to spend on a wedding venue? Did you know that many parks have large covered areas that you can rent for sometimes as low as a couple hundred bucks? Yeah, there will be other people in the park listening in on your ceremony and reception - but for the amount of money saved - its worth it.

Don't forget to ask the park about getting an amplified sound permit - BEFORE you pay the deposit on the park. Some parks do not allow amplified sound, or require special insurance to get the permit - better to know before you rent the space.

Recording of my show on Eve Radio, on the Gaming Now Network. This show is an eclectic mix of POP, ROCK, COUNTRY, and HIP-HOP. I was extremely tired when doing the show... but you know how it goes...the show MUST, go.... ON! So, it starts a little rough, and has a few hiccups...but turned out to be....

Quote from Mark Ferrell:

Before you pass judgement on the price of a professional DJ/MC, just do a quick check with the local Hilton and ask then how much it would cost to rent the AV/lighting equipment with set-up and tear down and an operator to hit the "on" switch.
Then think about how much it costs to have a legal music library at about $1.50/song or more.
Then consider someone who actually knows how to program an evening of music and mix it to build excitement throughout the evening.
And that's just music and AV....
If you hire a trained professional, there's public speaking skills as a Master of Ceremonies to consider.
And that's all before you add in business expenses and salaries.
As with anything, if you want a true professional, you'll pay professional prices. And, as with anything, you'll get what you pay for.
If you have a tight budget, hire professionals based on your priorities. If keeping people entertained and engaged all night is a priority, your entertainment budget should reflect that choice.
Low budget = DJ that gives off prom vibes.
High budget = Master of Ceremonies/DJ who is elegant, memorable, and fun. Someone who knows how to read a room and amplify important moments tastefully. Someone who can direct, inform, and guide the evening and move people physically and emotionally to emphasize the importance of the event and be a representative of you and your good taste.

When it comes to throwing memorable themed events where you attempt to take the participants on a journey to a magical world - you either need allot of money, or less money and allot of time and energy. Either way, you want to start by searching online for decorations that are for your theme. There are a bunch of different websites that cater to party decorations, and don't discount Amazon . com or even Ebay for that matter. When you find pictures of the kind of decorations you would like to have, save the URL on a document, and or start a folder full of saved images. If you have the $$$ in excess, you can simply buy the decorations, or come to a company like Dazer Entertainment and come up with a custom design going by the photos you have collected and then let us put a package together for you using local artists to create your props.

If you don't have the $$$ .... then you need time and people with energy and creativity. Need large cardboard props? well then find someone with a pickup and trailer and a place to store things that is dry... then visit your local appliance and furnature stores - you will find they have a ton of super sized cardboard boxes they throw away on a regular basis. I recommend getting some cheap latex primer house paint in any base color (white is best). Sometimes large box stores like Jerry's and Home Depot have discounted paint that someone didn't like the color...if your REALLY lucky you might find some primer in there as well. Cut out your shapes from the cardboard, and paint them with a single color base latex paint (preferrably a primer)... let them dry. Then draw your shapes on the cardboard with sharpie markers (pencil if you think your going to have to redu things). If you have a projector (you can get them fairly cheap these days)...you can project the images you saved during your research onto the cardboard and trace the patterns... Next Step is Paint. If you have a little money, buy a pail of cheap white latex house paint, and then maybe a quart of the basic colors Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow... you can mix those into just about any color you want. Sometimes, you can get the basic pigments in a kit from the painting section as well and just mix those in. If your on a tight budget, doing a monochrome set with limited colors you find among the discounted paints section might be the way to go. If you want LARGE props, then you will want to make a frame out of 1x2 with a 2x4 base (for weight to attach the cardboard to. Attach the cardboard to the frame - staples work great - tape not so much. Pvc pipe can also be used to make frames as well... although then you have to bump up your game to using things like tie straps to attach the cardboard to the frame. If you want to make 3D structures... this is doable with either wooden frames, and or some kind of device that penetrates and attaches the cardboard together... A quick search for "Cardboard Rivets" will find you a host of different options at different price levels. I would recommend checking out Mr. Mcgroovy's Box Rivets ...and check out the instagram site for some great ideas on super sized props, all made out of cardboard.

Anyways, if you have the time, and a space to work on props...you can create amazing props to decorate you themed part at half the cost of purchasing them.

If you truly have time, other things to do is constantly hit your local thrift stores...check the materials section. Sometimes you can pick up large bolts of cloth that can be used for decorating.... or a bolt of stiff material that can be painted on, and attached to a wooden frame. Sometimes you can find greenery (artificial plants) or other props that can be used to add a little touch to your decor at a price significantly lower then buying new.

Either way...when you are done............. DON'T THROW AWAY THE PROPS!!!! Put them up on Facebook or other multimedia for sale... or at least help someone else save some money and give them away. You will make someone's day.

Eh, hope this post was helpful.

I've (David Roman / DJ Lazer Dave) been told, I need to start sharing more examples of my DJing work. Well I do a weekly online radio program on Gamingnow.net/radio - every Monday from 8pm-11pm PST. Although, this is a laid back radio program and utilizes mostly radio style mixing, it can give an idea of the kind of mixing you would expect during a dinner set - minus the commentary of course. If you enjoy it, there are multiple recordings of my radio program on my mixcloud page at: https://www.mixcloud.com/djLazerDave/

This is a recording of my online radio program Eclectic Vibes, which is every week, Monday night at 8pm PST on GamingNow.net/radio . This particular program is a continuation of a back in time set...remembering some of the great songs I experienced while I lived in Brownwood, Texas... mostly songs f...

I'm thinking of cutting back on my DJ business to one or two events a month tops... I know, I know, I say that every year...and for the past few years I've been getting busier and busier...sigh... but my body is getting to the point where I need to start listening to it and cutting back...

Of course, if I'm going to cut back on making money, I need to cut back on spending money so I've been looking at my expenses to see where I can cut some things.

I've noticed that I'm spending about $300-$500 a year on my websites... I'm like, is anyone really even using the website... I think I get maybe one or two leads from there a year... I get more leads from Facebook....which at the moment doesn't cost me anything but time...

The main reason I've held on to the website is not for advertising....but for the djlazerdave.com and now Dazerent.com end to my email... I've just always been told that people are more likely to take your company more serious if they receive emails from [email protected] or [email protected]...versus [email protected] or [email protected]

So my question is... does email extensions really matter... do you question a business that has a .com email address?

Please... give me your honest thoughts on the matter...

Saving $300-$500 a year would be a huge savings.

We were fortunate to be a part of a fun Quinceanera this past Saturday (have to get permission still to post photos). The organizer Rocky, did an amazing job of planning and coordinating everything - which allowed us to just enjoy providing the DJ / Photobooth service. The event was at the The Franklin Events and Community Center - a great place to host medium sized events. The room is of decent size, and there is a fairly large stage. Load in is decent, as they have a paved path with ramps that allows the use of carts to roll everything in. The staff there was also very friendly and helpful. The only drawback for the event was I wish there had been more time alloted for setup.

So a note to all future customers, if you want a really nice sound and lighting setup, then I would recommend allotting a minimum of 5 hours of setup time. We had 2 hours on Friday and 2 hours on Saturday. I had to cut a few of the lighting features, and was scrambling near the end and didn't get to do some of the polishing steps we normally take like organizing and hiding the wiring to make things look cleaner.

Other note - if you plan on doing a video or slide show presentation, its critical to ensure that the laptop and projector work together without issue before the event.

All in all the event was a success...with great special choreographed dances to music that we helped make custom remixes for the event (yes, we can do that for you - there is 2 hours of studio time available for free with every event we do for special remixes, mashups, or even studio recordings of someone singing or playing an instrument).

A family run intimate wedding venue and event center just outside of Eugene, Or. You are welcome here
