Hi! I’m Emily Guadalupe Zur, the heart and creative soul behind Emily Zur Photos. I’m a proud Mexican-American with over 12 years of passion for holding a camera in my hands. My journey into photography began in high school with a little red digital camera, where I’d convince my friends to model for me, take photos of vibrant family parties, or capture the beauty of nature. As a deep thinker, I’ve always been drawn to meaningful moments—memories, laughter, and raw emotions—all of which deserve to be captured and cherished. 🥰

One of my earliest inspirations came from flipping through National Geographic magazines, I was in aww at the raw and authentic human portraits. So inspired by the images, I dreamt of becoming a photojournalist to capture the "real" world. That dream led me to Austin, TX, where I pursued photography classes and eventually graduated from Texas State University with a degree in journalism. But I soon realized that reporting the news wasn’t where my heart was. I craved human connection—moments of vulnerability, authenticity, and beauty that could be celebrated and preserved forever. ♾️

That’s when I began capturing portraits and events, which grew into documenting one of life’s most beautiful milestones: weddings. I discovered my love for helping couples plan and capture elopements that reflect their unique stories and personalities. I believe your wedding day should be about YOU—your love, your connection, and your way of celebrating it. 💍

My inspirations come from the world around me: nature, memories, emotions, my vibrant Mexican culture, art, music, books, and the genuine souls I meet. ✨

When I’m not behind the camera or editing, you’ll find me traveling, dancing at music events, writing, sipping coffee, reading, playing sound bowls or spending quality time with my husband and our pup son, Benny. ❤️‍🔥

When is the best time to book your photographer for your wedding day? 👇

As soon as you know your date and have your venue! a lot of the time I book out a year or two in advance for many of my couples. This way we have enough time to capture your engagements, bridals, bo***ir, and we create a payment plan that works for you. 🥰

Editing wise: I just delivered this beautiful wedding and I have 3 more weddings, 1 elopement, 1 bo***ir, and 1 portrait session to edit to finish my 2024 session. I’m hustling HARD to get those galleries sent out 💃

and it’s been one of the best gifts I’ve given myself. 🥹 My first ever camera was a little red digital camera. I took it with me everywhere I went & it was what got me to really fall in love with photography. I’ve had this camera for a week now and it’s been SO much fun bringing it out taking videos and photos & just throwing it in my purse. The photos aren’t “professional” by any means but it’s been so refreshing having a fun camera since I can’t take my work camera everywhere. Who’s ready for me to share some pics? 🥰
