🇵🇱W dzisiejszym odcinku „History of Hardcore” chcemy przedstawić sylwetkę człowieka, który naszym zdaniem zagrał jeden z najlepszych, jeśli nie najlepszy set na ubiegłotygodniowym festiwalu Harmony of Hardcore. Drodzy Państwo, przed wami historia DJ-a i producenta ze słonecznej Italii, Tommyknockera. Zapraszamy do lektury.
Tommaso Marra, znany jako Tommyknocker, urodził się w Rzymie 20 stycznia 1977 roku. Pierwszy kontakt z muzyką miał w 1992 roku, kiedy kupił swoje pierwsze gramofony. Dwa lata później odkrył naszą ukochaną muzykę – hardcore. Gdy poczuł miłość do tej muzyki, zaczął grać na pierwszych nielegalnych rave'ach w Rzymie, gdzie unikalna atmosfera oraz dźwięki miały ogromny wpływ na naszego bohatera. Nazwa Tommyknocker pojawiła się na różnych plakatach i ulotkach w 1995 roku, kiedy Tommaso zaczął grać dla Freddie'ego K (pioniera muzyki techno we Włoszech) w różnych radiach oraz klubach. Grając jako jeden z niewielu muzykę hardcore, został rezydentem na imprezach Oxygen, gdzie nawiązał międzynarodowe znajomości.
W 1998 roku Tommaso, inspirując się artystami takimi jak Promo, Stunned Guys oraz P*P, zaczął produkować własną muzykę, spędzając całe dnie i noce w studiu. Rok później wydał swoją pierwszą EP-kę dla słynnej wytwórni Traxtorm Records pod tytułem „The Realm”. W tym samym roku zaczął grać po Europie, m.in. na ulicznej paradzie w Zurychu, a w 2001 roku zagrał swój pierwszy interkontynentalny booking w Toronto. Kontynuując wydawanie swoich utworów, współpracował z innymi gwiazdami takimi jak Mad Dog, Paul Estak i The Viper. W 2005 roku po raz pierwszy wystąpił na legendarnym Thunderdome, co było wielkim osiągnięciem i potwierdziło jego pozycję na scenie. W kolejnych latach Tommaso wydawał kolejne znane utwory, takie jak „Criminal”, „Demolition” i „Learn from the Pain”.
Jego utwory oraz styl miksowania są jednymi z najlepszych na scenie, a nawet w 2024 roku podczas swoich setów wykonuje scratche, co jest rzadkością w naszej muzyce. W 2010 roku postanowił wrócić do swojego miasta, czyli Rzymu, ale to nie zatrzymało jego kariery, ponieważ wciąż można go spotkać na największych festiwalach.

🇬🇧 In today's episode of "History of Hardcore," we want to introduce you to a person who, in our humble opinion, played one of the best, if not the best, sets at last week's Harmony of Hardcore festival. Ladies and gentlemen, here is the story of DJ and producer from sunny Italy, Tommyknocker. Enjoy the read.
Tommaso Marra, known as Tommyknocker, was born in Rome on January 20, 1977. His first contact with music was in 1992 when he bought his first gramophones. Two years later, he discovered our beloved hardcore music. When he felt the love for this music, he started playing at the first illegal raves in Rome, where the unique atmosphere and sounds had a huge impact on our protagonist. The name Tommyknocker appeared on various posters and flyers in 1995, when Tommaso began playing for Freddie K (a pioneer of techno music in Italy) on various radio stations and clubs. Playing hardcore music, which was rare at the time, he became a resident at Oxygen events, where he established international connections.
In 1998, inspired by artists like Promo, Stunned Guys, and P*P, Tommaso began producing his own music, spending entire days and nights in the studio. A year later, he released his first EP for the famous Traxtorm Records titled "The Realm." That same year, he started performing across Europe, including at a street parade in Zurich, and in 2001, he had his first intercontinental booking in Toronto. Continuing to release his tracks, he collaborated with other stars such as Mad Dog, Paul Estak, and The Viper. In 2005, he performed for the first time at the legendary Thunderdome, which was a significant achievement and confirmed his position on the scene. In the following years, Tommaso released more notable tracks, such as "Criminal," "Demolition," and "Learn from the Pain."
His tracks and mixing style are among the best on the scene, and even in 2024, during his sets, he performs scratches, which is rare in our music. In 2010, he decided to return to his hometown of Rome, but this did not slow down his career, as he can still be found at the biggest festivals.
