Our lovely .yourdayibiza led two beautiful intimate Effortless ceremonies last weekend. One west side by the sea and the other east side on the red cliffs.

Lisa is flying in her first year here on Ibiza as a celebrant and we couldn't be happier to have someone as experienced, gentle, warm and eloquent on the team. 💕

Our Effortless ceremonies are exactly that! Simple, no venue, no frills, no - or very few - guests. The focus is solely on the couple and their love for each other as they make or renew promises to spend their lives together surrounded by the natural beauty of this inimitable island. ❤️❤️❤️

WEDDING VOWS & RING EXCHANGE

This part of the ceremony can - and should - be exactly how you want it to be. Like everything else on your big day, the way you select and make your vows should also reflect who you are as a couple. There is NO SUCH THING as the right or wrong way to make your vows!

❤️You can pour your heart out on paper, writing your own personal vows.
💙You can go with the traditional 'til death do us part'
💕You can choose from the PDFs on the private page of our website when you book.
❣️We can help you to create and customise your own promises based on what you value most.
💚You can repeat line by line after your celebrant.
💛You can read from cards which we prep or can buy yourselves vow booklets and hand write them for that old school romantic vibe.
💜You can include a handfasting as a nod to your roots, like these two did.
🩷You can exchange vows privately and simply say 'I do' in the ceremony, like Mr and Mrs Gallagher here.

Neither of these two is a big public speaker and both were nervous about making vows in front of everyone, so they chose to exchange them privately pre ceremony, then to simply say I do as they exchanged rings after having their right hands wrapped with their family tartans. They then kissed, stepped back and tied their knot. Simple, beautiful and very much them.

However you decide to make those promises is completely down to you and we are here to help, guide and be your sounding board or editor every step of the way. Follow your heart and your gut and you can't go wrong. 🙏

Today, I woke up to this gorgeous video and review over email:

"From the first contact Carly went out of her way to accommodate a surprise vow renewal during our stay in Ibiza, the meticulous planning and gathering of knowledge was edited expertly to provide us with a bespoke ceremony on the day that will be remembered for years to come, Carly and Rick created an ambience and atmosphere of love and fun throughout the ceremony, the music sets were first class (which everyone in the party danced and smiled to) and we had an amazing day, Thank you, Stuart & Tracy. “

Stuart contacted me in Spring to tell me that he wanted to surprise his wife with music and a vow renewal for their 25th anniversary, which happened to fall when they were holidaying here with 15 of their family earlier this month.

I was so excited to be involved and over emails and a video call Stuart and I planned to play their wedding song as part of surprise pre dinner music, then announce that that was just the start of the surprises....next I led a vow renewal ceremony under a gorgeous olive tree in the garden then Rick and I played for 90 minutes whilst they danced, toasted and celebrated. Unforgettable.

I often experience moments of pure gratitude, love and happiness when I reflect on just how incredible it is to utilise my passions for writing, singing, creating, performing and connecting with people in my work and to be in these environments of love, joy and intimacy so frequently. This was definitely one of those moments and is up there with some of the best work memories I have made so far.

Thank you Mr and Mrs Gray for inviting Rick and I to be part of your celebration of love, life and unity. What a privilege it was to be part of this incredible, intimate event.

Grace and James. ❤️❤️

I adored these two from our first meeting. Cool, calm, collected and totally in love, with clear ideas on exactly what they wanted from their day.

Their ceremony was relaxed, light and fun with a loving cup ritual mixing their favourite tinto de verano and words from their friends family but still had moments of romance and happy tears.

The connection between them was obvious throughout and I love that the super talented .inlove.photographers picked up on the hand squeezes, loving looks as tenderness between them. ❤️

Spotlight on the awesome ❤️❤️❤️

This man is sunshine in human form. Focused, hard working, dapper, funny and a massive fan of a Cornish pasty, a dickie bowtie and a pork pie hat, Ben brings his A game every time.

With Ben as your celebrant, you are guaranteed a few giggles, a lot of warmth, a dash of showmanship and an unforgettable ceremony. He also makes an awesome cocktail if you want to add a drink mixing to your ceremony. 😉

I have had the privilege of knowing Ben for almost 10 years now and it's such a joy to call this genuine, enthusiastic and eternally optimistic and positive person a friend and teammate. ❤️

Our children have grown up together, he is my chosen family and we have worked together in many guises - so proud to have him on team YDI. He has his first ceremony of 2024 on Friday and I know it will be incredible. ❤️❤️❤️

PS...somewhere there are photos of us as Anna and Kristoff from Frozen when I worked as an entertainer for him and his wife/my soul sister in the early days of their hugely successful party and event company ...but that's another story! 🤣🤣

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOU HAVE DONE OUR CEREMONY?

I am often asked what I do after the ceremony and how long I stay.

All celebrants are slightly different. In my case, if you have booked me for cocktail music, I will head straight to where my band are waiting and start singing my little heart out for you!

If not, I will hang around long enough to sip a glass of bubbles, sign your certificate - if you're doing one after the ceremony - then grab a congratulatory hug, cheers and possibly a photo with you if you aren't too busy!

Then, I will leave you to enjoy your family, friends and celebrations while I head home or to a gig absolutely buzzing and full of all those feel good chemicals that come from being surrounded by so much joy and getting to be the person who unites two people in love. ❤️

INTRODUCING LISA!

I am delighted to have added a 4th member to the your day team, in the form of the lovely .yourdayibiza ❤️

Lisa recently realised a lifelong dream shared with her husband to relocate to the White Isle.

She reached out to me to ask if I wanted to meet up and discuss what she could bring to the team just as I realised that we needed more celebrants. Serendipity!

A quick coffee soon became three hours and I knew there and then that Lisa would make an excellent addition to the team.

She brings with her ten years experience as a celebrant and registrar in the UK and has led over 1000 ceremonies, from a romantic rainy elopement in Cambridge to a 600+ guest extravaganza in Blenheim Palace and everything in between.

She was married here in Ibiza in 2010 and has lived here since 2015, when I met and connected with her genuine heart and honest, open soul at a Mums meet up with our then toddlers.

~ What an office.

Today's ceremony for Mr and Mrs Burden was just lovely. Personal story with contributions from their family and friends, sand blending with their darling little girl and a big 'We Do' from the guests.

A real mixture of laughter and tears and such a gloriously chilled and supportive vibe. What an amazing family.

Today I want to shout out to the amazing Natasha and Claire of - for not only running such an incredible platform for celebrants to learn, get to know each other and support one another, but for creating this workshop which was one of the most useful and confidence-building things I did last year for myself.⁠
⁠
The workshops focus on creativity in lots of different ways, from different perspectives and with techniques, ideas and live activities to take part in. ⁠
⁠
For me personally, I’ve never felt like a natural writer, and I've struggled with imposter syndrome a lot (as I know many of us do) but these workshops taught me a lot about the ways I can conjure up my creativity and get into the zone, and also in the live activities, I realised that I AM a good writer. Shocker!⁠

Listening and talking with other celebrants in the chat box during each session was one of the best parts for me too, it's so lovely to feel part of a community who build each other up. ⁠

Following on from yesterdays post of beaming during a ceremony…

I was just looking for a new profile photo and I came across this photo that took of me with Grace and Danny after their wedding ceremony at in 2019.
I remember when I saw it for the first time and thinking about how it captured that post-ceremony feeling for all 3 of us PERFECTLY. 💛 The ceremony was personal, emotional and so much fun. The guests were involved, Grace’s grandma came up to do reading, and we laughed a LOT.

I cannot wait for a whole summer of smiling like this until my face hurts. Who else?? 🤩

Happy February everyone 🤍

I’ve not posted yet this year, so I wanted to say HELLO and check in with you all. 😊 How are you? How is 2022 treating you so far? Sending you all huge virtual hugs!

**LONG POST ALERT**

On an episode of the that I was listening to recently, said that you can tell by the frequency of her social media posts how she is doing mentally. Which resonated with me completely. 🙏🏼
I’m always grateful for others who are sharing their personal experiences like this, because when you’re running a business there is a huge internal pressure to be here constantly.
I always intend to schedule posts so that there are lots of lovely photos and ceremony content inspiration here for couples, but it is yet to happen. And honestly I like that when I post it is organic, real and in-the-moment.

January was a difficult month for me/us, but things feel lighter now and I am excited to be here, to be busy, to have such a gorgeous job and seriously amazing people to work with (I’m talking planner, suppliers, couples and every lovely person who supports me and my amazing team). ❤️‍🔥

Here’s what’s been going down…..

Buffy hasn’t been well, it’s been pretty terrible but she seems to be doing a bit better now, although unfortunately she’s now blind. We are just hoping that she will keep improving otherwise and will still live a long and happy life. 🤞🏼❤️
And work-wise, as many of you will know by now, Brexit put a huge spanner in the works which we tried to resolve but couldn’t, so all of Laura, Pia and Julies bookings for this summer have had to be reassigned to myself, and . It was a hard pill to swallow but we are so grateful for how understanding everyone has been and I’m so pleased that for the majority of the couples affected, we are still able to work as your celebrants.
It does mean a very busy summer for the 3 of us, but we have really hit the ground running and are super organised this year: we are creating planning timelines for every couple, already reaching out to book in calls and start scripting. (Continued in comments)

DONATING TO SUPPORT AFGHAN REFUGEES

I love my job. I could list all the ways and reasons but essentially, I get to talk and write about love, get to know wonderful people, get dressed up and go to beautiful places.
I also work full time in my office doing lots of the essential work that goes into running a business and staying organised that isn’t fun at all and that I don’t get paid for. But I love my job nonetheless and I know how lucky I am.

Women in Afghanistan can no longer say that. They aren’t allowed to work under Taliban rules. They’ve had to run from their workplaces and universities, hide their diplomas, cover up.

Every part of what is happening in Afghanistan is terrifying and heartbreaking.
Seeing photos of babies passed over crowds outside the airport is too much for me to even think about. But blocking it out doesn’t help anyone. And the only thing I can physically do is give money.

I wish that I could afford to donate regularly to causes and charities, but unfortunately despite how busy I am, what I earn hardly covers my bills.

Because this situation is so urgent, this week (from today until end of day Sunday), I will donate 50% of anything I earn to support Afghan refugees via

If you are pending making a booking with me, or are booked for 2022 or 2023 and are able to make a part or full payment towards your final balance now, by doing it this week you will also be donating to support this cause.

After this week I will reassess our prices for future bookings and figure out a way to donate money more regularly to important causes.

Of course, you can also choose to donate directly if you can afford it, even £5, £10, £20 will make a difference.
