Jesse Tye is a professional Disk Jockey & music producer from North America, residing near Omaha, Nebraska. Timeline:

2002-2007

Upon being introduced to electronic music by my older brother at the age of 12, I instantly fell in love with sounds that were not available on the radio. I acquired two belt-driven turntables, a dated DJ mixer, and a small collection of vinyl by 2005. YouTube was still

in its infancy and online tutorials for DJing were very limited. I bought all of the records from my favorite DJ's mix and practiced recreating the mix over and over until I understood what DJing was. I then began adding new vinyl to the mix over time.


2008-2020

After graduating from high-school I was able to get a job mixing music during after-hours at a downtown bar/dance-club called "The Omaha Mining Co" (aka The Run). I also ventured into Nebraska's Underground Rave scene and was able to land gigs in ware-houses, house parties, and eventually became a regular DJ at Oasis Ho**ah Lounge, a bar that was featured on the TV series "Bar Rescue." During this timeframe, I had also banded together with two other DJs and we formed a trio called "CornHustle". This small collective focused on DJing at Omaha Bars such as Bar-415 and House of Loom with guest performers. Eventually I took on corporate events, weddings, and karaoke to add them to my resume. "Tye Wedding Service" was launched in the late 2010's as a sole-proprietor operation. In hours spent not working time was spent learning turntablism techniques such as scratching and basic beat-juggling. In 2017, I had the honor of obtaining a weekend DJ residency at Omaha's largest Nightclub: The Max. I held this position proudly until the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020.

2020-Present

Needless to say, Covid-19 decimated the night-life industry. Sadly, the doors had to be closed on "Tye DJ Service" and my residency at The Max had to come to an end. Without any gigs, the focus has shifted towards music production. My music is now available on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Deezer, Amazon, SoundCloud, and other platforms.

I really, REALLY want an excuse to break out my old Happy-Hardcore/UK-Hardcore/Gabber records from the 2000s and play an all vinyl set. If someone could throw a Hardcore Rave that’d be the bees knees 🤙 I bought these records in 2005 and haven’t played them out since 2007-2008.

Look what the cat dragged in! I wanted to buy a DJ controller last year but they were sold out everywhere. I saw this one and decided to wait a bit. I caved and a year later I am the proud owner of the Pioneer DDJ-Rev7.

If you book me and expect me to bring turntables out for the aesthetic there’s now going to be an extra charge for that.
