Kid Presario got to DJ his first gig that was 90% County & Western music. That wasn't the plan going in, but he learned an "in the fire" lesson about evaluating the crowd and adjusting on the fly.

He's blessed to be DJing in a time where you have online music databases made for DJs to download songs on the spot. Back in the day if you didn't come prepared - you just made what you had in the crates/hard drive work!
