Hey everyone,

After a year of working to perfect the show & lots of fine tuning and some great shows in between think we got near as damn it at the Sold Out City Varieties Music Hall show!
It was amazing and the crowd were singing so loud at times it was louder than the band absolutely brilliant!

Thank you to Brandon Block as always a firm fav in Leeds, to Yungfox & James Ross to the band for all the hard work & dedication.

Big shout out to Martin Dickson at Leeds Bid & Welcome to Leeds for supporting us & Leeds amazing work you do!! Thank you!

To Joey at Saul Studios patience of a saint listening to me thanks you! Great designs & ideas!

Anthony Newby for the wonderful footage & how you ran up up down all night was unreal top man! Drone man extraordinaire!

The show allowed us to include everything & mainly the LED screen which Hamlet delivered, his graphics are synced to the band amazing job H!

Jill Adams for sticking with us & putting up with us all thank you!

The one & only Brandon Block!

DECKS, DRUGS & BLOCK ’N’ ROLL

I first met Brandon at Renaissance we both had just arrived Brandon from London & me from Leeds it was a Saturday night so no doubt we had been up for a while as Ronson was the night before. We both had shades on and looking a bit peaky to say the least & at the same time we lifted each others shades to meet properly, laughed our heads off & we can mates immediately.

I’ve never met someone as funny, generous & also completely bonkers it was a match made in heaven at the time as the scene was in full swing…..What a time to be alive!

I invited him to Leeds and his first gig was Soak with Sasha & Dave Dorrell and the rest they say is history, we ve been mates a long time, travelled the world from Hong Kong, India and Ibiza and its been some journey to say the least! Glad we are still here to be quite honest it was the craziest of times... the 90’s & we were part of the acid house revolution.

Brandon was a cocky school boy from Wembley who along the way became an Ibiza legend too! He became a symbol for the acid house generation of indulgence and excess.

One of his most iconic moments was going up on stage at the Brits as someone on his table told him he had won & the incident with Ronnie Wood had us all in bits! Gawn Brandon! The last bastion of acid house Block n Roll!

We are super thrilled that Brandon will be part of the Let There Be House! Show on Friday 2nd June at the wonderful City Varieties Music Hall Leeds & what a welcome he is going to get!

It’s an honour to have Brandon as part of the show as Leeds is his second home & we are thrilled to bits.

We are super thrilled to announce that appearing alongside Jackie, Sofia & Rachel the amazing SULENE FLEMING will be performing at our Let There be House! Show at the City Varieties Music Hall on Friday 2nd June.

SULENE FLEMING

Sulene is a Soul Funk and House Artist from Bradford West Yorkshire & has worked with the likes of Brand New Heavies, Incognito, Citrus Sun, Brian McFadden, Mother Earth, Leroy Hutson, Stone Foundation, DR Robert, Newmastersounds & currently on the Dave Koz cruise.

Some of her releases have been with producer/artists such as Joe Ventura, Todd Terry, Lenny Fontana, Opolopo, Moodymanc, Art Of Tones, Eric Kupper Richard Earnshaw, Mark Lower,Tom Junior, Distant People, Pausepushers, Stoim, Funkatomic, Conan The Selector Yam Who? And many more.

Sulene continues to keep current and innovative. In her career so far she has written & released music as a solo and featured Artist as well as often being part of a band.
Her eclectic songwriting and vocals have given Sulene the room to move through different musical genres, live and in the recording studio.

We cant wait to welcome Sulene into the Let There Be House family and we were thrilled she said yes!

We are thrilled to announce that Rachel Modest will be joining Jackie & Sofia on stage at our next show at the City Varieties.

Rachel Modest - Vocalist

Rachel was born in Sheffield in 1976. She couldn’t remember a time when she didn’t sing.

She grew up in the Pentecostal Church environment which was very strict but she loved going to church surrounded by amazing music, musicians & singers.

Rachel’s musical inspirations span from composers such as Beethoven, Mozart & Debussy to Stevie Wonder, Di Angelo, Whitney & Maria.

She formed the Bluefoot Project & released the album Brave in 2003. Bluefoot toured the UK, Ireland & France & performed at Glastonbury 3 times!

Last year Rachel reached the semi finals of The Voice chosen by Tom Jones & 4 chair turns!

This week has seen Rachel release her first single Questions an amazing throwback to the Motown Days…it’s amazing!!

Rachel has an unbelievable range in her voice, a true powerhouse of a singer which is guaranteed to have you out of your seats!

A cheeky throw back to the best club in the world Space Ibiza!

Sundays mornings were absolutely epic & Space was a meeting point for everyone to catch up and have some fun! By 9am it was full to the rafters & going off! It was hedonistic chaotic fun & a very special time to be young free & having it!

Brandon & Alex were the creators & djs with the box behind the bar on the terrace! The bar staff loved it having 2 of the most loved djs on the island causing absolute carnage all around them it was pure comical genius!

The terrace was fun, shades on day time partying which started early Sunday morning after the main clubs closed! Genius idea for people who had the energy to continue & how they did! it was full of like minded people from all over the world there to have fun & a good old fashioned carry on!

Brandon & Alex did not disappoint delivering mayhem, tunes & an energy which was off the scale!
Space terrace, Brandon & Alex set the scene for daytime party’s in Ibiza for years to come & without them it just wouldn’t have been the same! We salute you!

Introducing our wonderful singers & next up is the amazing Sofia Jones!

Sofia is a portfolio musician with over 30 years of professional experience. Being genre versatile has enabled her to work as principal backing vocalist on multiple jukebox musicals including Fastlove and Lost in Music both nationally and internationally, as well as singing backing vocals for originals artists on stage and in the studio.

In addition to performing on stage, Sofia works for several prestigious acting and music schools as a visiting lecturer in Voice, Dialect and Singing. Her uncanny ability to change her vocal style to suit a diverse range of genres is her superpower, alongside her immense vocal range. Sofia always seeks to optimise the audience experience with her energetic and fun performance approach.

City Varieties is a hidden gem originally opening in 1865 & is the nation’s longest running music hall. So we thought, where better to bring our new show to……..LET THERE BE HOUSE! in 2023 & celebrate the history of Leeds as a dance music capital of the world from right back when it all began, brought bang up to the present day!

Throwing it back to our first show at The Belgrave Music Hall Leeds in September & after months of rehearsals we were all nervously excited to finally play in front of our home crowd. The love we got back that night will stay with us forever and at the end of any show the vindication you get from your audience is always honest & we loved it!

The Piece Hall Show Me Love -The History of House

Good day folks,

Many years ago when Up Yer Ronson was at its peak & we had the Ronson Band hitting the charts & touring the UK, we discussed the idea of creating a dance band to perform all the greatest dance music vocal tracks & take it on the road.

For what ever reason mainly due to to timing we parked the idea for a rainy day & that rainy day was approximately 12 months ago when I reconnected with Hamlet our original bass player in the Ronson Band, we chatted about a new dance band & how we could do it! We thought it would be the perfect time now to put the project together so after 12 months of hard work & long days we’ve done it!

Show Me Love is born & we have the best band and dance show in the world right now! We are on our journey! Its never easy to break a new band & project but between myself, Hamlet & Jill we are determined to get out there on the road and show people what we have done & show everyone the Love!

We are building & we are trying to do it the old fashioned way of shows, a lot of new technology but word of mouth is still up there as the best form of pr! What is so important to us is the support & following we have started to attract & that will always be our main driver because without you guys we are nothing, so a huge thank you to everyone who has enjoyed the shows so far and we value your ongoing support for this amazing band & group of people who deserve the best and we aim to give it our best every time!

We are so proud to have 2 shows in December the first at the Iconic Piece Hall on 6th December and the second at the equally iconic York Barbican On the 20th December.

So get your glad rags on 2 shows not too far away and early enough so you get to bed at a reasonable hour too!

We are kicking off Christmas with a song & dance and a memory that you will be smiling about for a long time, that is guaranteed for sure & we can’t wait to see you all.
