Join us on January 24 for TBC #8 - alongside the aforementioned Walker Not Walker will be Tekrar Eden who will be treading the lines between ambient, IDM and jazztronica. Mysterious, downbeat and trance-inducing.

Walker Not Walker hail from Manchester, existing with a sole purpose of presenting and performing the music of the late, great Scott Walker.

Presenting music from Scott’s entire career in goth-rock power-trio format, Walker Not Walker have built a cult following since their inception in 2017. Their shows are not just pure muso-territory however - an encyclopaedic knowledge of Scott’s work is not necessary. Songs have been adapted to work in this format and as such take on a new life of their own.

This will be the next show from ⚫ The Black Circle ⚫ we do hope you'll join us.

We're thrilled to announce TBC #7 will feature two particularly heavy bands; Glossop won't know what's hit it.

Returning to the North West for the first time since the release of their latest, incredible album, 'Umbilical', Thou will make their Glossop debut.

Moloch will likely shake the foundations of The Globe with their particularly nasty sonic obliteration.

Come to Glossop for a lovely day out!

Edgars Rubenis emerged on the underground scene in mid-2000’s as the member of Riga’s experimental rock band Mona de Bo. Often considered to be one of the most vital forces on the Baltic scene of the ensuing decade, this ensemble has released 5 albums spanning psychotic indie garage, collisions of free improv and noisy drone rock. After the intense experimental guitar period with Mona de Bo and in an abrasive solo practice, Rubenis moved to The Netherlands in 2012 to study sonology and composition at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague.

Now he's bringing his distinctive performance to Glossop! He will join Matt Hill Songwriter and ADRA Promotions at Friends of Victoria Hall, Glossop on November 30.

Later this month we'll be hosting TBC #6 at Victoria Hall, Glossop. Among the performers that night will be Abbott AKA ADRA AKA ADRA Promotions

For a long time Andy Abbott was synonymous with pummelling noise; playing guitar in celebrated Leeds bands such as the ferocious duo That Fu***ng Tank or the double-drumming psych outfit Nope. However, in recent years – under his solo moniker ADRA – he has been making minimalist abstract music, alongside more acoustic and ambient-leaning explorations.

Inspired by his time working as a Creative Practitioner in psychiatric wards as part of an NHS pilot scheme, Andy has channelled his creativity into his latest album 'Music for Psychiatric Wards (and Fluid Structures)'. The album is gaining accolades and attention and we're thrilled to have him join us at The Black Circle.

Glossop’s own Matt Hill Songwriter is an artist and Creative Practitioner who uses songwriting and music as a way to connect with people on the margins of society, whose voices are often ignored. He has co-written songs with people affected by homelessness, poverty, addiction, dementia, those who live inside prisons, asylum seekers and military veterans. These songs often explore topics like history, place and identity and his work has been commissioned by arts organisations, national museums, galleries and charities. For the first time ever, he will be playing a set of songs drawn exclusively from his community co-writing work.

Tickets for The Black Circle #6 are on sale now via Eventbrite, costing £10 (+ applicable fees). There is a limited number of free tickets available to anyone who is low or unwaged and wishes to join us. Any remaining tickets will be available at £12 on the door.

Venue Info:
There is no bar at Victoria Hall, but you are welcome to bring your own refreshments.

The venue is wheelchair accessible but there is currently no accessible toilet.

Due to illness, Thraa will unfortunately no longer be able to perform at our event tomorrow night. But never fear, A-Sun Amissa / Richard Knox have stepped into the breach and will be performing a special set titled Drone Oracle.

Drone Oracle was premiered earlier this summer at Arctangent festival, and a recorded version of the expansive track will be available for free for all attendees at the gig.

Refunds are available if you no longer wish to attend in light of this change, please contact us if this is the case. However, we hope that you will still join us at The Globe for a great night of music.

Tickets are on sale until 3pm tomorrow, and then on the door.
