Experiri - Performance Art Platform EXPERIRI is a performance art movement and a platform for exploring embodied art forms. The sessions are completely non-mandatory and open for anyone.

Experiri is a performance art platform exploring various embodied practices through workshops and performance related experiments wishing to bring performance art into the everyday life. This year, Experiri began developing the platform into a production and experimental performance art academy exploring different flows, movements and historical periods of performance art as basis for praxis; and

with such we strive for high quality and professionalism in all our artistic endeavours. Workshops - The Experiri playground workshops (which are free of charge) provide a weekly meeting point for local performers of all kinds to exchange skills and thoughts which also builds the fundament for new collaborations and performances. One is not obliged to participate in anything one does not feel like and everyone is welcome just to come by and assist. Each session has a leader that introduces a certain skill, philosophy, concept, practice or activity for the participants to absorb and experiment with. This year we have had contact improvisation, sensory costume making, improvisation theater, and storytelling sessions/workshops. Experiments - Experiri has initiated different sorts of artistic experiments such as croquis writing which is an invented practice coined by Experiri that emerged from an experiment last year in a peepshop. It borrows the same observational nature from croquis drawing however, instead of drawing, one writes what one is capturing in different forms: prose, poetry, short-story, free-text, personal ramblings etc. Projections and bodies dance together finding a way to relate and the audience writes the outcome. In this second edition, we have explored interaction between bodies. In the first edition, performers were performing improvising solo but this time we created a space where they interacted together and created narratives through movement, dance, text, and vocal sound. We have formed a solid international partnership with UNG Aalborg and so next year we will initiate youngsters belonging to the organization into performance art. This partnership entails what we call lecture-lab study sessions where we expose UNG AAlborg members to lectures, exercises and assignments. This is part of our experimental performance art academy programme where we study academic texts from performance and different experimental theatre studies journals, select texts from books such as “The Transformative Power of Performance” by Erika Fischer-Lichte, or “Performance Art” by Rose Lee Goldberg, “Performing the Digital” by Martina Lecter et al, etc among others. Our structure starts with taking performance art studies through its origin, the end of 1800’ until the present exploring different art movements. This knowledge needs to be translated obviously, into a language that is clear, simple and concise since our audience is young and has not been exposed to the technical language of academia.
